Job Description:
As the Site Electrical Engineer, you'll be the in-house electrical expert for our client's engineering team. Key Responsibilities:
* - Act as the in-house electrical specialist, mentoring and offering training to team members.

What is the Role?

As an Electrical Engineering graduate joining SSE within our Thermal business you will be at the forefront of building a better world of flexible thermal energy for future generations. Graduates will follow a specialist pathway where they will work with experts in their specialism, gaining exposure across the Thermal business for the duration of their 2 year graduate programme. Graduates based at Peterhead will begin their programme based at one of our operational sites and will expect to gain an operational role upon completion of the graduate programme.

My client work mainly on commercial buildings such as high street retailers and banks. You will be tasked with attending around 4 sites a day to carry out repairs or maintenance within the buildings which will include PPM and reactive work.

• Carry out maintenance and repair, including fabric & basic electrical tasks of buildings as required under contract

Your new company

You will be working for a large organisation operating across the Aberdeen area providing property maintenance solutions to a range of public buildings. This role is a long-term temporary position for a period of at least 6 months. In your role as a Property Inspector you will provide technical expertise to the wider contract management team.

Your new role

In your new role you will spend a mixture of time in the office and visiting properties across the Aberdeen area. You will inspect plant such as commercial heating and ventilation systems. When carrying out site inspections, you will update and maintain statutory records, allocate work to mechanical contractors and assist in managing any maintenance required. This role will involve working as part of a team, being able to assess repair requirements in line with regulatory requirements and maintaining the building at a high functioning level fit for the purposes of the occupants.

To be successfully appointed to this role you must have experience and qualifications relating to commercial boiler installation and maintenance. Qualifications at SVQ / NVQ Level 3 are essential. It is also essential that you hold a current driving licence as you will be travelling regularly as part of this role. You must have a strong awareness of health & safety procedures and contribute to a culture of working safely. In addition, you will be required to keep accurate records using various IT packages such as word, excel and email. An excellent communicator, you will work as part of a wider team and communicate your findings and recommendations clearly.

You will be working for a large organisation operating across the Aberdeen area providing property maintenance solutions to a range of public buildings. This role is a long-term temporary position for a period of at least 6 months. In your role as a Property Inspector you will provide technical expertise to the wider contract management team.

Your new role

In your new role you will spend a mixture of time in the office and visiting properties across the Aberdeen area. You will inspect plant such as commercial heating and ventilation systems. When carrying out site inspections, you will update and maintain statutory records, allocate work to mechanical contractors and assist in managing any maintenance required. This role will involve working as part of a team, being able to assess repair requirements in line with regulatory requirements and maintaining the building at a high functioning level fit for the purposes of the occupants.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successfully appointed to this role you must have experience and qualifications relating to commercial boiler installation and maintenance. Qualifications at SVQ / NVQ Level 3 are essential. It is also essential that you hold a current driving licence as you will be travelling regularly as part of this role. You must have a strong awareness of health & safety procedures and contribute to a culture of working safely. In addition, you will be required to keep accurate records using various IT packages such as word, excel and email. An excellent communicator, you will work as part of a wider team and communicate your findings and recommendations clearly.

This role is an excellent opportunity to take a step into a management or supervisor role, working off the tools you will be responsible for inspecting boiler and ventilation systems and recommending repairs required. You will be paid a competitive rate of pay, paid mileage for all business travel and work flexible hours over Monday to Friday with no call-outs required. This role also offers you a long-term contract right though until at least April 2025. Paid weekly via Hays, you will also receive holiday pay in addition to your hourly rate to be used throughout the year.

Reporting to the Pipeline and Bundle Discipline Manager and Design Team Lead, the engineer will have responsibility for a particular design and services required to ensure successful delivery of high-quality engineering to meet project, commercial and technical needs. The scope will include studies and tenders as well as projects.



What will you be doing?

Provide relevant skills, integrity and knowledge in rigid subsea pipeline engineering including design codes, legislative requirements, Client specifications, and industry engineering practice
Carry out subsea pipeline analysis using available tools and software such as Abaqus, DNV tools, Mathcad spreadsheets or similar software
Take responsibility for production of high-quality deliverables including design reports, calculation sheets, FE analysis and engineering checks
Provide engineering support to Tendering teams, Project teams, Field Development group and other stakeholders
Operate within standardized engineering processes and systems in the Business Management and Knowledge Management Centre
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legislation requirements are observed
Manage all external (clients, subcontractors) and internal interfaces
Provide pipeline engineering support for the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as project engineering managers, engineering departments, project personnel and supply chain management
Participate actively in the “Pipeline and Bundle Department” know-how consolidation and propose innovative solutions to reduce cost as well as risk

What experience would we like you to have?

Educated to degree level or above in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or working towards this
Experience in pipeline in-place design and trawling analysis
Previous experience scripting (Python / VBA) or general software development and programming is preferrable
In-depth knowledge of subsea pipeline engineering including design codes (DNV-ST-F101, PD 8010-2), standards, recommended practice and applicable software tools
Experienced in pipeline FEA based design and analysis using ABAQUS
Experience of delivery of pipeline engineering, including in-place analysis (Both exposed and buried pipelines)
Can effectively work as a team member across multiple projects and good team player
Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
Good organisational and time management skills and be able to work to deadlines
Demonstrate integrity and respect for others

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Engineer (Control & Instrumentation - Cyber Security) to join our Thermal team based at Peterhead Power Station. Reporting into the E, C & I Lead Asset Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and support across the station within your area of expertise and ensuring management plans for station assets meet company objectives in terms of SHE performance, cost, reliability, efficiency and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, maintain & execute asset management plans for the allocated assets e.g. Distributed Control System, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, PI Processbook & Instrumentation Systems inc. Field Equipment. All in line with Cyber security guidelines and standards.

- Determine the maintenance strategy for the allocated assets and create and maintain the necessary preventative and predictive maintenance tasks in Maximo. Specify and maintain spares stockholdings for assets in your area of responsibility. Contribute to FMEA, RCM and other asset related studies identifying issues and specifying corrective action. Supervise site works for execution of projects and asset related tasks. Carry out RCA on plant failures and carry out rectification as required.

- Provide technical oversight and support across the station within your area of expertise. Provide the link between the station and external technical experts, e.g. central Engineering, Generation Development and OEMs. Example Systems: T3000, Envirosoft, PI Processbook, Beran, Zoom, BVM etc. Supervising and executing repairs on site.

- There is a general responsibility to maintain compliance with legislation, in addition you may have responsibility for maintaining station compliance with specific areas of legislation relevant to the role.

- Manage revenue and capital projects in your area of responsibility complying with the company project management and plant & process change processes.

What do I need?

To be considered we would love you to have:

- Degree qualified in an applicable engineering discipline or relevant experience.

- Skilled in Control & Instrumentation Field Equipment, Distributed Control Systems e.g. T3000, Intouch, Osisoft PI and various control techniques.

- Proven track record of plant troubleshooting & preparation of work packs for execution.

- Experience of Cyber-Security/Digital Engineering in an Operational environment, preferably within the Energy Industry and understanding of the regulatory requirements for OT Cybersecurity.

- Experienced using computerised maintenance management systems, preferably Maximo.
