Reporting to the Portfolio General Manager for Capitaland, we are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to join our dynamic professional team. This role is suitable for an astute & experienced operational professional, who understands the intrinsic nature of an established building & the requirements of a 5 star property.    

What is the role all about:

• Leading and developing a team of maintenance professionals
• Leading a team to plan and carry out preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort
• Designing and implementing solutions to improve energy management and conservation
• Contractor negotiations
• ESG Management
• Ensuring the hotel upholds OH&S and fire safety responsibilities
• Audit reporting and monthly maintenance reporting
• Ensure the quality of records for repair work and daily checks as required by local
• Council & Government specifications
• Liaising closely with other departments to ensure minimal impact of repairs and maintenance on operations
• Researching, recommending and liaising with the Portfolio General Manager regarding procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department
• Carrying out project work as required and/or as required
• Prepare and submit & manage capex proposals

Salary: UP $4500

Responsibilities:

• Supporting and maintaining the office network systems (Microsoft, Lotus Notes, Firewall, Leased / ADSL lines, Web Portal etc)
• Administer Active Directory O365, Hyper-V & VMWare(Windows), Network Servers inclusive of installing Operating Systems & Software, IT Security & Compliance
• Handling & managing Active Directory Server & MS Azure/EMS
• Handling of Infrastructure (Firewall), Servers backup & Recovery.
• Servicing of users requests and providing support for all in-house software & requirements.
• Involve in troubleshooting and resolving of servers & desktops problems.
• Carrying out the upgrading of the office systems (network, servers, desktops & related equipment / software).
• Maintain proper records of all equipment, software, incidents, activities and services provided
• Assisting in the disposing of obsolete, defective or non-serviceable equipment.
• As and when required, will provide briefing to the users on the usage of the office systems (standard applications, office network and related processes).

Requirements:

• Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Possess 1 year experience as MIS Executive or System Administrator related role.
• Possess knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (server & client), AD Server, Office 365 Administration, MS Azure / EMS Implementation, Hyper-V, Lotus Notes / Domino, Backup Application (such as Arcserve, Acronis, Symantec Backup Exec, etc) and other software applications.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to join our luxury hotel resort team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all property engineering and maintenance operations. This role is critical to ensuring that the resort facilities are safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently to provide a high-quality guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily operations, including the maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other critical hotel infrastructure.
• Supervise and provide leadership to the engineering team, ensuring that all team members perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
• Conduct regular inspections of all resort facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, local codes, and resort standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, ensuring the resort’s physical assets are protected and longevity is maximized.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to manage energy conservation programs and implement sustainable practices to minimize the resort's environmental impact.
• Respond to emergencies and breakdowns promptly and efficiently, coordinating repairs with minimal disruption to guests.
• Assist with the engineering department's budgeting and financial planning, including managing vendor contracts, procuring equipment, and tracking departmental expenditures.
• Ensure that all maintenance requests from guests or other departments are handled promptly and efficiently.
• Assist in training, developing, and mentoring the engineering team to ensure high work standards and a safety commitment.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations across all functions of the resort.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hotel or resort engineering operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems commonly found in hospitality properties.
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in engineering software, preventive maintenance programs, and Microsoft Office.
