This role is responsible for organizing the operations standards and approach to drive and achieve cost to serve targets, compliance standards. The incumbent will also support commercial solutioning requirements including integration of various services to formulate a customer response. Oftentimes the customer solutioning is triggered by a formal customer request. It is responsible for ensuring strict compliance to process standards to ensure service texture consistency across Asia. Role will deliver continuous improvement on processes to meet business and efficiency requirements, ensuring process stability and capability. The incumbent will work with operating regions to deliver compliance to operational KPI's that meet industry and customer requirements.
Process Engineering & Performance Management
- Manage, reengineer and enhance operations processes for all LOBs, ensuring standardization as appropriate, stability and capability versus market demands. Design, re-Engineer and deploy OTC process and seamlessly links the FLO to the GBS across all functions.
- Ensure strict compliance to process standards to ensure service texture consistency. This includes the development of an operational organization which will support our standard process.
- Continuously enhance processes to meet business and efficiency requirements. This includes performing ad-hoc reviews and audits of standard operating procedures to streamline and automate operations.
- Deployment of relevant operational KPI’s that ensures high level of service delivery. Work with regional and key account owners to define Service level commitments that is clearly linked to our cost to serve. Any exceptions will need commercial and operational leadership approvals to ensure relevant are costs or approved.
Operations Excellence & Management
- Develop and maintain systems to establish standards and measurements relating to activities and products to instill a performance-based measurement culture.
- Develop quality data sources and conduct statistical quality control.
- Deal with non-compliance cases timely and reduce the impact to business.
- Vendor management and build strong relationships with the vendors. Conduct routine audits on quality of vendors’ services provided, ensure alignment with SLA.
- Negotiate for better rates with vendors for APLL group (purchasing power).
- Develop a process to develop internal capability in managing operations.
- Coordinate the Continuous Improvement activities to provide broader business benefits and a centralized focus whilst establishing a common reporting methodology.
- Organize the appointed region’s operations standards and approach to drive and achieve cost to serve targets, compliance standards.
- With Regional Leadership, measure use of resources and ensure high level of productivity to lower cost.
- Drive unit metrics mindset and measure outputs consistently to power cost improvement. Develop and prepare regular statistical reports and monitoring tools on project operation performance – performance reports, productivity reports, costing reports etc.
- Determine operational metrics by studying business models; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Review and interpret operational data to identify operational issues and provide solutions which optimize service levels, efficiency, and overall process flows.
- With Regional teams, support the development on organizational design the meets efficiency and commercial growth objectives.
Solutions Engineering and Commercial Support
- Support the logistics and solutions engineering requirements of commercial pursuit which includes the integration of physical, information and document solutions relevant to complex pursuits.
- Work with other stakeholders on new business & innovation activities to support new service development to enable an aligned approach.
Leadership
- Lead and develop team members to drive and manage transformational change.
- Manage resources including tackling staff performance issues and identification of training needs, reviewing productivity and local recruitment.
- Ability to inspire teams to accomplish objectives.
- Drive thought leadership in scope with intention of improving our product to compete and cost to serve.
- Engage Commercial, Regional Leadership teams, Functional Leads, and external stakeholders to effectively to carry out above responsibilities.
- Lead in the implementation of Greater Asia’s initiatives to achieve regional goals.
Financial
- Support achievement of CM, OI relevant to scope
- Review annual budget and present to Senior Leadership team.
- Meet or exceed budget for the department.
- Monitor weekly operation movement and performance based upon agreed KPIs.
Qualifications
-Degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, or related field
-Minimum 8-10 years of experience working in multinational corporations; preferably in transportation, freight, supply chain or logistics industry.
-Experience in implementing LEAN and six sigma methodologies.
-At least 5 years of team management experience managing a large team of more than 10; preferably in global transportation.
