Lead a team of engineers in the service & maintenance of laundry equipment. Be a source of expert advice and support for users of the equipment.

As a leader of a multi-disciplined team of Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Clerical staff providing a laundry equipment management service, you will be expected to:
Communicate with and provide specialist advice to the team’s senior managers and colleagues with regard to the efficient running of the equipment.
Undertake testing and repair of a wide range of complex laundry equipment.
Undertake a range of duties in a deputising role for the C0mmercial Services Manager
Supervise work plans and work of staff.
Assist in identifying and managing risk associated with laundry equipment and support investigation of laundry equipment related incidents.
Act as a mentor and oversee training for engineers of all grades ensuring accurate and up to date records.
Assist in monitoring key performance standards associated with both internal and external work plans.
Provide and receive complex technical information, instruction, and advice for all aspects of equipment.
Discuss complex technical matters with staff and equipment suppliers. Communicate with users of equipment on matters of safety and risk.
Assist in the investigation of adverse incidents, communicating with users, outside agencies and suppliers on complex and sensitive matters.
Exchange and manage confidential, sensitive, or contentious information professionally and effectively.
Agree timescales and deadlines with team for access and return of the laundry equipment.
Work in partnership with laundry supplier equipment trainers to provide a laundry training agenda.
Interact with colleagues internally and with outside suppliers / agencies on matters relating to the laundry equipment.
Analyse and find faults on complex critical laundry equipment.
Analyse interpret and compare information and data to investigate adverse incidents
Carry out analysis of key performance measures and produce reports as requested by Manager.
Analyse situations / information to identify and resolve a range of problems.
Assess and compare a wide range of conflicting technological issues and faults to make decisions on next step.
Maintain and ensure accurate and appropriate departmental records.
Maintain security around the data management of all electronic information held on personal or departments equipment.
Input and manipulate data and information into computer databases to enable relevant and accurate performance reports.
Assist with laundry trials and evaluations of specialised equipment.
Carry out laundry equipment evaluations and testing prior to purchase. Undertake audits as and when required, presenting results to managers.
Plan own workload to meet performance targets and deadlines.
Liaise with the team for access to plan routine servicing of the equipment.
Plan tasks and activities which may require adjustment due to variable workload / interruptions.
Compile reports as requested by manager.
Develop self within the job role and department requirements.
Calibrate, service and repair of laundry equipment.
On occasion there will be a requirement to move parts of heavy laundry equipment such as, Dryers, and Diaphragms, etc. whilst carrying out repairs or planned preventative maintenance.
Request the purchase of stocks and spare parts necessary to carry out duties.
Assist in the monitoring of external service contracts and contractors while on site.
Give advice on purchases of consumables and laundry equipment.
Liaise with suppliers on technical queries over invoices for work done. Installation, repair, and maintenance of Trust’s assets.
Recommend and suggest improvements to departmental processes and purchases to enable work within budget restraints.
To undertake an active and full role in implementing HR policies.
Deputise for the department manager to represent the department as required.
Plan the aims, objectives and priorities of yours and colleagues work and communicate this to the teams.
Make the best use of resources and value for money through product evaluation and
monitoring budgets.
Undertake staff CF2s appraisals.
Provide leadership through motivating and developing staff to achieve high performance.
Facilitate staff development based on regular meetings to discuss activities, priorities, progress and problems.
Report on the department’s quality and performance against key targets.
Deploy resources within your control (people’s time; money; other resources) to achieve plans.
Assist with accreditation of ISO9001.
Assist with development of protocols and procedures as necessary to improve service delivery.
Develop audit processes and calendar to determine and report the effectiveness of policy process and procedure.
Assist the department manager in setting standards for work performance which are appropriate to defined goals and are required as part of legislation, Trust policy or departmental protocols.
Be accountable for own performance and identify personal development needs
Provide expert advice information, instruction, and advice to clinical teams for all aspects of laundry department and equipment.
Assist in the monitoring and investigation of laundry or linen related incidents
