SSE Pacifico was formed in October 2021 to deliver offshore wind projects in Japan. SSE Pacifico is progressing a 6GW portfolio of early stage development opportunities by leveraging SSE Renewables' expertise in developing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms with Pacifico Energy's extensive local experience in Japan in local preparatory development work.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate all engineering activities and deliverables across development and construction of offshore wind farms in Japan.
You'll be responsible for:
- Interfacing between Japanese and European technical teams and supporting the leadership of the technical project team.
- Managing engineering inputs to projects including permits and statutory consents during development phases.
- Leading the definition of technical requirements and managing initial engineering work packages.
- Ensuring design integrity, compliance, and technical risk management.
- Coordinating technical project side to ensure aspects such as LCOE, constructability and operability are evaluated.
- Actively engaging with stakeholders and supply chain, including contributing to bid strategies and due diligence processes.
- Contributing to research and development including the exploration of new technical solutions.
What do I need? We're looking for someone who can transfer sound technical expertise and experience in offshore wind into the Japanese market. You'll be a safety conscious leader with focus on developing a high performing engineering team.
You will have:
- Experience in supporting development, design, engineering and construction phases of power generation or transmission aspects relating to offshore wind projects.
- The ability to work at the start up stage of a project, with experience of developing systems, standards and processes.
- Strong decision making skills and the ability to take initiative and be result oriented.
- Communication skills that support effective working, networking and influencing with people from multiple nationalities and cultures.
