[What the role is]
To capture the potential and opportunities of the unmanned systems sector and emerging technology for Singapore, the Unmanned Systems Technology, Engineering and Planning (UTEP) Division assesses, identifies, and forges partnerships with Industry, other Civil Aviation authorities, and research entities to grow new business areas, initiate greenfield research and develop capabilities. The Division also focuses on systems engineering, technology capabilities and resourcing for unmanned systems, such as the integration, implementation, and operational oversight of the maintenance of Counter-UAS systems.
One specific workstream on emerging technology is assessing the feasibility of and driving the adoption of alternative fuels and related technology such as hydrogen and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for the aviation sector.
