Role Information
* Leading and chair Authorisation Groups as delegated by the Authorisation Group Chair during the build and commissioning process.
* Ensuring, through the authorisation of build and commissioning documentation, all build and commissioning activities and operations carried out on the submarine platform systems are conducted safely and are compliant with all relevant statutory legislation, site and safety case requirements
* Evaluating all build and commissioning documentation associated with platform systems to provide assurance to the Chief Engineers that the system design intent has been achieved and proven during submarine build
* Maintaining oversight and support to the Platform and Nuclear Safety Case demonstration by generation of evidence and records to permission significant build and commissioning events
* Working closely with the Area Delivery & Commissioning Managers to ensure the Document Delivery plans are aligned to the delivery and due process timescales and any risks are identified and mitigated

The Estates department at Furness General Hospital is a group of highly skilled electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineers, creative building craftpersons, and dedicated support staff.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Manager - Mechanical to join us.

You should be experienced, time served, and suitably qualified in mechanical engineering maintenance, fault finding, and repairs. Ideally you will have trained to NVQ Level 4/HNC level or above.

You should be proficient in all aspects of mechanical plant and equipment on an industrial scale. Healthcare experience would be advantageous but not essential - as full training will be given.

Flexible working and the ability to participate in an on-call rota is required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical infrastructure at Furness General Hospital and Millom Hospital. This includes taking on the role of Lead Mechanical AP (Authorised Person), Lead Ventilation AP, Lead Water Safety AP, and managing a team of deputy AP's.

The role involves managing internal and external labour ensuring their compliance with HTM and H&S regulations.

To manage all mechanical aspects of property maintenance for trust properties and other organisation’s properties on behalf of the Trust.

To supervise and carry out line manager duties for Estates Officers.

To participate in the training of junior management staff to ensure they receive work experience, upskilling, and competency based task training.

To efficiently manage a departmental budget and labour management system for your discipline and deputise for other Estates managers as required.

To assist, and deputise for, the Estates Manager as required.

To carry out Estates surveys, Estates returns, manage minor project and capital works, and assist in the monitoring of energy usage.
