Job Title: Senior Electrical Production Engineer
Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 a week

Our well established client in Bridgwater have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. As part of their continued growth and development they have a vacancy for a Senior Electrical Production Engineer to join their team to work supporting the design and manufacture equipment including new concepts and the refinement of existing design, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes. The engineer will also be responsible for the development of electrical engineering specifications and drawings, as well as working with other engineers and departments to ensure the successful implementation of the design.

Duties

• Overseeing control panel design, ensuring the manufacturing processes and quality of work is done in a safe and efficient manner to the latest legislation, ensuring that the appropriate electrical regulations are met for the contract end destination.
• Adhere to the specifications and established industry standards of the product while also ensuring that they meet the needs of the consumer.
• Coordinate the component wiring schedule for new contracts, creating and loading the BOM into our MRP system.
• Evaluating and evolving the final product in terms of appearance, performance, functionality, durability, and safety.
• Involved in the developing of the manufacturing processes and developing the supply chains of our key suppliers.
• Determining production cost and strategising the most cost-effective means of production.
• Communicate well with the engineering team to develop, train and implement the products.
• Test equipment prior to despatch which involves connecting all equipment ensuring that it meets the design specification, replicating the final installation on site. . You will trouble shoot to resolve faults, record findings and sign the equipment off for final shipment to our customer.
• Trouble shoot, offering guidance and support to customers with existing.
• Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with team members.
• Flexibility in supporting other roles within the company.

Attributes.

• HND in electrical engineering is desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years office-based experience as a Senior Electrical Production Engineer.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
• Proficiency in 3D such as AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Solidworks.
• Sound knowledge of design and electrical engineering principles and best practices.
• Experience using automated control equipment such as PLC'S and VFDs.
• Proven experience of fault finding electrical and mechanical equipment including pumps, fans, sensors, and actuators. This is not an exhaustive list.
• PLC programming is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and critically minded.
• The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Cabling Engineer, you will be pivotal in the installation, termination and fault-finding of data cabling across various sites primarily in the South of the UK. You will be reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves leading a team of data engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. Accountabilities

Process lead for assigned projects and work packages.

Interpret customer requirements and flow to design, hardware selection and outsourced work packages.

Lead process design to ensure P & I drawings, Component Schedules and Design Risk Assessment are accurate and updated.

Coordinate and provide technical input to project delivery team.

Coordinate sub-contractor work packages.

Host regular core team meetings and customer project reviews.

Assist project manager with planning and execution of assigned projects in accordance with key dates, milestones, budget and Company procedures.

Assist project manager implementation and maintaining project management tools, including action logs, request for information logs, risk registers, etc.

The role will be 5 days on site due to the hands-on hardware / desktop support nature of the role and will pay between £30,000 - £37,000pa depending on experience. Your new role
Within the role you will be based at the organisation's secondary office location (Portbury) as the main on-site IT Technician whilst working with the wider IT infrastructure team and manager (based in the Wiltshire HQ) to support the business's operations and support the users. You will provide technical expertise across hardware and desktop support, whilst also supporting the service desk with software and application troubleshooting. You'll provide break-fix support in a Mac / Microsoft environment for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and other niche hardware. You'll also support with technical administration for the M365 stack, windows server and basic networking.


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will need to have worked in a similar 2nd line desktop / IT support role with excellent customer services skills. You must be able to work under pressure, and be able to manage a busy workload. Ideally you will have a passion for IT, with a desire to upskill and progress within the role. You will also need to be happy working in an independent role without direct on-site supervision.
