What you'll be doing:
- The role of the PLC/SCADA Engineer will form an integral part of Veolia's Industrial Control & Information Systems department, covering the whole of the UK. Within TDE ECI, a systems engineeering team and a service team work closely together to both install and maintain the Plant Management Systems across Veolia's wide customer base.
- The job will primarily include for the design, engineering/programming and commissioning of PLCs and SCADA/HMI's that form part of Veolia's Plant Management Systems (PMS).
- Control System specification interpretation, in order to carry out programming tasks and/or development of detailed software specifications in various formats
- P&ID plus associated plant drawings (including electrical panel drawings) interpretation in order to carry out the graphical element design of SCADA and HMI
- Software design and engineering/programming and testing of but not limited to PLCs based on Allen Bradley CompactLogix and SLC families using RSLogix 500 and 5000 software
- SCADA design and engineering/programming and testing of but not limited to Rockwell RSView32, FTView SE SCADA platforms and ICONICS
- HMI design and engineering/programming and testing of but not limited to Rockwell PanelView and Fanuc systems
- Pre-Commissioning/Factory Acceptance Testing (normally office environment) of PLC & SCADA/HMI
- Functional Commissioning/Site Acceptance Testing (where and as required) of PLC & SCADA/HMI, including field instrumentation, metering and control panles wiring checks, modifications e.g. polarity change
- Production and compilation and control of associated data, configuration and commissioning systems documentation.
- PLC & SCADA/HMI System Training and Handover activities.
- To carry out Technical Support by methodically diagnosing PLC and SCADA problems using efficient fault finding techniques and undertaking corrective actions.
- Identify cost effective C&I enhancements leading to efficiency and productivity gains.
- Metering and instrucmantion configuration and readings validation.
What we're looking for:
- Work in a team environment and happily/constructively engage as a team member.
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Assist colleagues/staff at a technical level where required.
- Work safely and adhere to Permit to Work systems and ability to compile RAMS.
- To conduct all activities in a professional manner at all times and follow company procedures.
- Ensure that administration requirements are completed on time and all necessary documents/records maintained accurately.
- Clean Driving licence & happy to travel (UK and ROI).
- Willing and able to work on site and take hotel accommodation for extended periods of time (UK and ROI).
- Experienced with Allen Bradley SLC, MicroLogix and CompactLogix family of PLCs; experience with RSView32 and FTViewSE SCADA systems; experience with Rockwell PanelView and Funuc HMIs
- Working knowledge and experience of PID control
- Be conversant with specifications, flow charts, PFD's and P&ID's
- 5 years minimum, previous experience with all the above systems noted.
- Maintain regular open and honest lines of communication.
- An excellent communicator - written and verbal.

- It is essential you have a Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (or related subject)
