Assistant Building Services Engineer (Electrical)

Salary: £36,312 - £42,717
Hours: 36 per week
The Council is looking to recruit a dynamic, client focused, personable and technically strong Assistant Electrical Building Services Engineer. You will be part of a growing team of building services engineers within the in-house multi discipline design service for the Council. You will be working on a wide and complex variety of projects of value ranging from £10k - £20m, covering the Councils operational property estate. This will include educational buildings, depots, offices, care facilities and other public facilities across the City of Edinburgh.
You should be HNC/HND qualified in Building Services and hold an associate membership or working toward full membership of a related professional body such as CIBSE, IET or similar. Having a degree qualification would also be of benefit.
Preferably you should also have some post qualification experience in building services deign and project/contract management, as well as an ability of working as part of a professional design team. Experience and working knowledge in Auto CAD, MS Office and building services design packages would be advantageous. Experience of working with BIM would also be an advantage. You should have good communication skills both written and verbally and be able to present well as a representative of the Council. You should also have a valid CSCS card. You should also have an understanding of financial management on projects and the importance of managing project costs.
You should understand the need for carbon reduction in building design solutions and in particular the building services field. Experience or an understanding of Passive Haus Design in new buildings and Retrofit Design would be an advantage.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
