Randstad CPE FM division is seeking experienced engineers who have experience working within commercial environments carrying out all areas of gas systems maintenance. This is a full time and permanent opportunity, mainly a Monday to Friday role.

This will be focused on various retail and commercial sites, covering the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester.

Package includes:

• Competitive salary between £37,000 - £46,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Main duties will include:

• Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices
• Identify any defects found and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects
• Participating in the call out rota
• Ensure Boilers are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and customers
• Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance and plan operational duties, working with the various systems and reporting as requested
• Likely to be involved with appliances such as small scale plant rooms, centralised heating boilers, gas heaters etc
• Likely to visit customer premises, (commercial), to fit, service and repair boilers and centralised heating systems that have broken down
• Assessing, dismantling, repairing or replacing relevant parts
• Support the field service team and upkeep and maintain the various internal operational processes

The ideal candidate must have the following:

• Commercial tickets, includes CODNCO1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, CIGA1, CORT1
• Catering tickets are highly desired but not essential
• Experience working within commercial environments
• Full UK driving licence

About the Role

The role is based in the Corporate Programme Management Office which forms part of the Chief Executives Directorate. The prime function of the role is to manage the Tram Private Finance Initiative contract on behalf of the Authority . The postholder will be responsible for liaising with the tram operator, as well as various directorates within the Authority to provide responses to contract queries as well as responding to planning requests received from developments along the tram route. There may be exciting opportunities to become involved in any future extension to the tram network.

In addition, the successful applicant will be the main contact for appropriate Committee meetings and be responsible for addressing queries from Council Members and the general public on tram related matters.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing long term complex contracts, preferably private finance initiative contracts, ideally including management of payment mechanisms, performance frameworks and long-term contractor relationships.

· Be highly numerate and literate to produce written reports and interpret statistical data.

· Knowledge of the planning and legislative framework for transportation projects, including light rail.

· Ability to conduct contractual negotiations of a commercial and/or technical nature, and to resolve issues that arise.

· Knowledge and experience of recognised project management methods and techniques in the development of major transport projects.

· Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information orally and in writing in a clear and precise manner.

• Continue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability

The Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would prove highly beneficial although not essential as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential in this role
• Experience working in the Quarrying industry would prove a distinct advantage
• Have experience of TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience of working in a relevant heavy engineering industry
• Knowledgeable in the area of Predictive Maintenance
• Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques
• Understands database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activities
• An understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications

Site based Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Nottingham - National Facilities Management Organisation: Life Sciences & Commercial Real Estate

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently hiring for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our facilities management client’s on-site team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems maintenance and a proactive approach to problem-solving. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the end-client’s mechanical infrastructure.

This is a permanent and full-time position, static based in Nottingham City Centre.

Package:

- Competitive salary between £37,000 - £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Core hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
- Participation in ‘out of hours’ on call rota

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, pump systems, air compressors, water chillers, plumbing, boilers, and other related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in the procurement of necessary parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide timely resolutions.

Requirements:

- Qualified to at least Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within the facilities management industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and boilers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

A Structural Engineer is required on a permanent basis for this structural consultancy based in Nottingham. They work on a broad range of projects and supply both building structures and Civil engineering solutions. Projects cover commercial, residential, mixed use, Public use and sporting/leisure. Job Purpose

Install lightning protection and earthing systems on various structures across private, public, industrial, and commercial sectors, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Installation: Install lightning protection and earthing systems on tall structures like high-rise offices and flats, following pre-designed schemes and risk assessments.
• Upgrades: Undertake upgrades to existing lightning protection systems as per provided instructions.

Person Profile:

• Experience: Strong experience in lightning protection (installation, testing, or repair).
• Qualifications: NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 as a Lightning Conductor Engineer, CSCS card holder.
• Customer Service: Previous experience in a field service environment with customer interaction.
• Skills: Good planning, organization, and communication skills.
• Desirable: IPAF, SSSTS, and PASMA qualifications, full UK driving license.

Your New Role

• Surveying and reporting on electrical systems in buildings
