Mechanical / Electrical Inspector - Machine Inspection
Randstad are currently recruiting for a Mechanical / Electrical Inspector to come and work for a leading engineering group based in Cross Hills, Keighley (BD20).
This is a permanent position paying up to £34,000 per annum with over shift allowances include.
The role requires the candidate to work abroad in Europe carrying out customer visits 4-5 times a year, these visits would typically be around 2 to 4 weeks in length - a daily allowance for working abroad would be included for this.
The Role
Located in the Inspection Department, the Front-Line Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for
the following:
* Take the fully assembled machine from handover, through 'power up', test and adjust to
machine shipment.
* Attend customers site to install and carry out service duties.
Main duties and responsibilities -
- Check that the machine is built to the customers specifications as detailed within the Factory Order.
- Fault find and diagnose machine set-up and process issues.
- Carry out the tasks on the inspection check list, problem solving and making mechanical and program adjustments where required.
- Work with the engineering & build team in the completion of any internal or customer non- conformances, to support a closed loop feedback and prevent reoccurrence.
- Oversees the machine shipment as it leaves our plant.
- Produce the shipment list.
- Complete the inspection documentation and final report.
- When required install, test and commission the machine on customers site dealing with non-conformances during the re-build and commissioning phase.
The ideal candidate will be -
* Suitably qualified to NVQ Level 3, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or alternative
required discipline.
* A relevant technical or engineering qualification in mechanical is desirable but full training
will be given.
* A knowledge of grinding processes is highly desirable but full training will be given.
* A knowledge of machine tools is essential.
* Experienced in Soft PLC to iec61131
* Understanding of Field Bus Profinet, Profibus.
* A willingness and ability to travel for the service/aftermarket departments when required.
* Ability to be flexible in working time; on occasion there will be a requirement to work
different shifts and overtime.
