• An R Developer is responsible for building and implementing statistical models, algorithms, and data-driven solutions using R.
• They analyze large datasets, perform data cleaning and transformation, and create visualizations to support decision-making.
• The developer collaborates with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to meet project requirements, generating reports, dashboards, and automated processes using tools like RMarkdown and Shiny.
• They also optimize R code for performance, develop reusable R packages, and maintain code repositories.
• Documentation of workflows and adherence to coding best practices are essential, along with continuous learning to stay updated on advancements in R and data science methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understanding the client’s business use cases and technical requirements and be able to convert them into technical design which elegantly meets the requirements.
• Mapping decisions with requirements and be able to translate the same to developers.
• Identifying different solutions and being able to narrow down the best option that meets the client’s requirements.
• Defining guidelines and benchmarks for NFR considerations during project implementation
• Writing and reviewing design document explaining overall architecture, framework, and high-level design of the application for the developers
• Reviewing architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, NFRs, etc., and ensure that all relevant best practices are followed.
• Developing and designing the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements; and defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks to materialize it
• Understanding and relating technology integration scenarios and applying these learnings in projects
• Resolving issues that are raised during code/review, through exhaustive systematic analysis of the root cause, and being able to justify the decision taken.
• Carrying out POCs to make sure that suggested design/technologies meet the requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: 5+ Years
• 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related field
• Analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
• Develop and deploy predictive models using machine learning algorithms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into business decisions
• Design and implement data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
• Stay up to date with new tools, technologies, and methodologies in data science
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of the team
• Strong expertise in Python, R, or SQL

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have: Data Science - General Experience, Data visualization and strategy, Machine Learning - General Experience, Python for Data Science (Strong)
• Professional experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in predictive modeling and optimization with proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, and experience applying them to real-world problems with expertise in machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), also familiarity with mathematical optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, integer programming, genetic algorithms, ant colony optimisation, Reinforcement learning).
• Knowledge of Gen AI, interfacing of ML models with LLMs; Experience with RAG and experience with frameworks such as langchain, llamaindex and evaluation methods for RAG and Prompt engineering with excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of high-quality professional software engineering practices for agile software development cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment.

In this role, a typical day will include.

• Provide technical leadership to international team of DevOps engineers and developers.
• Create automation that supports the productivity of the SDMDS team.
• Develop and maintain process automation tools.
• Act as a Scrum Master and/or Product Owner for the team.
• Partner with stakeholders from SDMDS and ITCI to define tools and process strategy.
• Lead implementation of tools and process strategy with custom integration solutions as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements, at times partnering with consultants.
• Develop interface simulators and design automated module deployments.
• Document processes and monitor performance metrics.
• Conform to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.
