SHI Group operates in a broad range of business areas ranging from manufacturing equipment and infrastructure to fields making use of the latest advanced technology. We are currently looking for a knowlegeable engineering manager who has expertise in wafer transfer robots used in semiconductors and related machinaries.
1. Technical support for customers in Singapore
Responsible to supervise the periodic / ad-hoc wafer transfer robot assessments and performance testing / evaluations using Python for existing clients to identify underlying issues. Provide technical consulting expertise for our Singapore operation team initiatives.
2. Collaboration with group company
Based on comprehensive and practical knowledge of wafer transfer robots offered by the SHI Group, encompassing all aspects of documentation, 3D modeling, and designing and draw components using SolidWorks, collaborate closely with engineers at the group company in the US. This collaboration ensures that the provided products and services are thoroughly aligned with customer needs.
This position is also responsible to oversee on-site management and supervision to ensure seamless and accurate implementation of products.
3. Technical Sales
As an Engineering Manager, oversee and execute technical sales and support for new implementations with semiconductor equipment manufacturers, serving as the lead in Singapore. This position is primarily expected to focus on approaching and catering to Japanese and US companies (in Singapore and other ASEAN regions), which are key customers of the SHI Group.
4. Exising Customer Relationship
Execute a strategic marketing and communication plan to the top tier clients of the SHI group in Singapore and other ASEAN region to deeply understand their needs, make an attractive proposal and conduct negotiations in collaboration with relevant teams and departments of the group.
5. Trouble Shooting
Based on comprehensive understanding of semiconductor related equipment, this role requires taking a leadership position in swiftly and effectively resolving product issues in Singapore, collaborating with group companies in Japan and the United States. Expected to spearhead the resolution process, this position is required to closely coordinate with engineers and relevant stakeholders in Japan and the United States when technical issues arise, ensuring prompt and appropriate solutions.
6. Knowledge & market insight transfer
Transfer the expertise to engineers in Singapore and Japan by consistently updating on SHI Group's products and the latest global trend and forcast in the region, in order to enhancing the group's engineering skills. Regular market insight update to senior managements in Japan HQ and US group companies are also essential.
Job Requirements where it is an essential responsibilities, qualifications, experience and skills to perform the job:
1. At least 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and extensive engineering knowledge of wafer transfer robots is essential for this position. This position is also expected to have knowledge and experience for vaccum technology, Cryopumps in particular.
2. At least 5 years of engineering experience in mechanical design and application engineering using SolidWorks in the field of industrial machinery, especiallly related to semiconductor manufacturing tool or vacuum components.
3. Experience in data analysis or performance testing of machinaries and robots using Phython.
4. Experience in technical pre-sales and/or technical sales in semiconductor indutsry.
5. The successful candidate is expected to possess expert level knowledge on the following tools / certificates.
-SolidWorks (At least CSWA level)
-Python
-Microsoft Office
Successful candidate with the following will be an added advantage.
-Applied Information Technology Engineer (or equivalent certificate)
-Certificate relating to general vacuum technology (e.g. Senior Vacuum Engineer)
6. The candidate is also expected to possess Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering or Applied Sciences field.
7. Business level English and Japanese language skill is essential, in order to cater key Japanese customers in highly technical communication, in collaboration with engineers in the US and Japan.
