Due to increasing demand, Our Client is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join their team at the Barnsley plant as a Mechanical Fitter.

What you can expect:

• Carry out reactive mechanical maintenance and Pre Planned Maintenance on all machinery by diagnosing breakdown problems.
• Working with specialist manufacturing equipment, including modern programmable logic-controlled machinery
• Working with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
• Occasional welding and fabrication
• Control maintenance spares, tools, stock, and equipment using the booking out system.

What we need from you:

• NVQ level 3 in engineering approved apprenticeship
• Experience in similar mechanical maintenance role
• Good team worker capable of working alone.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Ability to work well under pressure.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be a competent mechanical engineer comfortable working in a heavy duty, industrial environment such as a construction, waste/recycling site, papermill, shipyard or manufacturing environment. Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be expected to undertake and prioritise planned and reactive work and take responsibility for your own projects on site. You will be attending breakdowns, fault finding and assisting with site planned maintenance on a variety of equipment including conveyors, hydraulics, pumps, rollers, gearboxes, values etc.

You must have experience within an industrial environment and be able to attend breakdowns quickly and efficiently, while upholding health and safety. It is also important you have experience with planned shut downs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as an mechanical engineer as part of a maintenance team on an industrial site!!
• Knowledge of CMMS and uphold H&S/Compliance.
• Enthusiastic approachable and a can do attitude to work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Competent fault finding and repairing on a range of equipment.
• Must hold a recognised Level 3 Engineering Qualification.

They are on the lookout for a Maintenance Specialist to lead the processes in maintaining and preserving the efficiency of all equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.

You will also showcase your expertise by managing and updating technical documentation of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities.

Key Responsibilities – Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Defining maintenance plans for new/existing production lines and facilities, consulting on ways to improve reliability, maintainability, and safety of equipment and facilities.
• Fault finding and solving technical issues on equipment across the plant to achieve maximum performance from the production lines.
• Propose and implement improvement projects for processes and production lines aimed at optimizing machine operation and useability with particular focus on energy efficiency.
• Completing/implementing TPM, PPM and routine maintenance schedules for machines across the site.
• Responding to time critical breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems thus minimizing disruption to the production process.

Qualifications & Experience – Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Time served/Qualification in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance activities with the use of CMMS systems. Also experience in data analysis through such systems to focus activities for greater results.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings to support manufacturing and machine improvements, experience in design software such as AutoCAD would be beneficial but not essential.
• Manufacturing background with ideal experience being within conduit production machinery including CNC.
• Machining experience in a maintenance setting using tooling such as Lathes, Milling, grinding, drilling, welding etc.
• Strong understanding of conduit system products.
