Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Industrial)

Location: Rochester, Kent

Shifts: 4 on 4 off shifts

This ethical, sector leading firm is seeking an electrically maintenance engineer with experience within the chemical, construction, steel, renewable energy or recycling industry or similar manufacturing environment work experience to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be a competent mechanical engineer comfortable working in a heavy duty, industrial environment such as a construction, waste/recycling site, papermill, shipyard or manufacturing environment. If you enjoy a well organised and steady paced work environment, but also enjoy a challenge, this could be the position for you.

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be expected to undertake and prioritise planned and reactive work and take responsibility for your own projects on site. You will be attending breakdowns, fault finding and assisting with site planned maintenance on a variety of equipment including conveyors, hydraulics, pumps, rollers, gearboxes, values etc.

You must have experience within an industrial environment and be able to attend breakdowns quickly and efficiently, while upholding health and safety. It is also important you have experience with planned shut downs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as an mechanical engineer as part of a maintenance team on an industrial site!!
• Knowledge of CMMS and uphold H&S/Compliance.
• Enthusiastic approachable and a can do attitude to work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Competent fault finding and repairing on a range of equipment.
• Must hold a recognised Level 3 Engineering Qualification.

07:00 to 15:30 / 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday (alternating weekly).

Early shift one week and late shift following week

Main Duties will include:

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Carry out Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
• Be on a call out rota to provide the client with full out of hours cover.
• Overseeing visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety.
• Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.
• Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
• Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Daily PPM and Reactive Maintenance tasks including - UPS system and associated control systems, Plumbing and drainage systems, Boiler room checks , Cooling towers, Fan coil units / AHU's/ Fans , Heating Pumps

The Ideal candidate will have:

• City & Guilds / NVQ Mechanically Qualified (or equivalent)
• Experience in a commercial environment
• Experience working within a hospital pr R&D environment - Desired
• Good building services knowledge
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Be able to pass a DBS check
