My client, a well-known international organisation in the manufacturing and repair of large and small power tools, are looking for 2 mechanical professionals to join their team in Uddingston

this role will be on a temporary ongoing basis.

The role will involve diagnosing and rectifying faults on various types of machinery, servicing machines before they are sent back to the client and working closely with the Repair Team to advise on any product faults.

* Salary bracket £13.30 - £15.38 per hour dendent on experience

* Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. 37.5 hours per week

* Full on-going training and support in all aspects of mechanical repair

Successful candidates requirements :-

* Recognised Apprenticeship in a mechanical field or equivalent qualifications, electrical knowledge is advantageous

* Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of tools and machines

* Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines accurately with minimal supervision

* Enthusiastic team player who exhibits a strong desire to learn new technology

Hays is representing an established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services and Maintenance company providing a service in a variety of different sectors. They have an immediate requirement and are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance and Small Works Manager.

Your new role
You will be working as Mechanical Maintenance and Small works manager, developing new client relationships and pre-existing commercial clients for service/small works needs. In this you will look after a range of projects such as supporting management agents, blocks of apartments and factories. Typically, service agreements tend to be circa. £5,000k to £10,000k. In your team service you are currently overseeing an administrator and two services engineers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an experienced Mechanical Maintenance and Small Works Manager with experience in gas and oil, which would be beneficial, but not a necessity. You will also need experience of commercial facilities and developing rapport face to face.

Their state-of-the-art facility produces high-quality products for the textile industry and are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to their team. The manufacturing site is committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production lines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• General maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimal downtime
• Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead and the reasons, with solutions offered.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Participate in continuous process improvements.
• Update the KPI board promptly with relevant information to pass on to your work colleagues
• Maintain regular communication talks with the machine foreman and other team leaders to discuss any relevant issues
• Ensure comprehensive information, both verbal and written, is carried out between shifts to ensure efficient and smooth handover to other maintenance staff and the Maintenance Lead
• Carry out routine maintenance schedules to the maintenance schedule plan PPM (preventative planning maintenance)
• Regularly check the computer SFOL (shop floor on-line) to ensure the current machines are all running.
• Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties. * Installation work where required. * Follow a 'clean as you go' work ethic in accordance with good manufacturing practise.
• Take responsibility for ensuring the workshop and individual toolboxes are maintained to the highest standards.
• Identify improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery or other operations and ensure these improvements are communicated to the relevant team.
• Ensure relevant administration is completed for all work undertaken.
• Ensure knowledge is kept up to date for all areas of the role.

Requirements:

• This role is right for you if you are either a time-served fitter/engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant experience in fault-finding, repair and general maintenance of machinery, hydraulics and other production associated systems
• Able to attempt most aspects of mechanical engineering with little direction.
• Good at diagnosing faults quickly & accurately.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Competent using MIG, TIG and electric arc welding equipment.
