You will be a keen team member with a recognised building services
mechanical/ plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent and have post qualification experience with in a complex building services environment. Duties will include statutory maintenance works as instructed to ensure compliance with current HTM’s, Water Regulations, ACOP’s and Trust policies.

To undertake duties of a Competent Person (CP) in accordance with the
relevant NHS HTM Guidance. Also to maintain and repair cold & hot water systems & plant including calorifiers, water tanks, plate heat exchangers , air handling plant etc..

Applicants should have a good all round ability and be capable of working on their own initiative to undertake planned preventative and reactive
maintenance and specialist engineering duties.

This position will require you to participate in the Estates emergency on-call rota which includes out of hours working at all Barts Health Trust sites.

The post holder will perform the role of mechanical craftsperson within the in-house mechanical maintenance team including undertaking a wide range of fault-finding and maintenance duties. He/she will be maintaining Mechanical building services, and equipment within the Trust properties. As a Building Services Engineer at our Bloomsbury club, you'll hold an electrical qualification (to 17th edition or equivalent) and a good knowledge of Building Management systems. You also have experience of emergency lighting testing, PAT, water hygiene and other compliance areas in a large industrial unit.

As a Building Services Engineer, you will:

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides service support and preventive maintenance on high end equipment and systems (e.g., accelerators, MRI, CT, etc.) during normal working hours and on-call rotation as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responds to unscheduled service requests from users by performing initial problem verification, troubleshooting, and problem correction. (35%)
• Completes scheduled maintenance in accordance with PM Inspection and Protocol management plan. Initiates and completes documentation after repair or PM is completed. (35%)
• Assists other technical positions in Clinical Engineering and other departments in the organization as required. (5%)
• Attends service schools, in house training and self-directed study as required on specialized modalities and systems. (5%)
• Performs and/or assists in installation of specialized systems. (10%)
• Interfaces with users, management, and administration as a subject matter expert in specialized modalities. (10%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Graduate from an electronic technical school.
• 7-10 years’ experience supporting general diagnostic imaging systems.
• 1-3 years OEM or hospital experience in higher end modalities.

Preferred

• Associate's Degree in bio medical or electronic engineering.

Cardinal Health PET Manufacturing Services is responsible for manufacturing PET isotopes to enhance patient treatment through improved disease diagnosis, staging, and monitoring.  Leveraging our fully integrated network of domestic nuclear pharmacies, Cardinal Health PET Manufacturing Services compounds, dispenses and distributes patient-specific, unit-dose PET products in pharmacy markets today.

What Cyclotron Engineer contributes to Cardinal Health

Our Sr. Product Engineer (Cyclotron Engineer) provides support to our PET production sites that manufacture product from about midnight through 9 am in the morning.  Engineers provide maintenance to the manufacturing systems (cyclotron and chemical synthesis units) outside of these hours and are also on call during if there are issues during production. The systems we work with are radioactive so for safety reasons much planned maintenance is performed late afternoons, evening, and weekends.

The primary work environment consists of a cyclotron and associated manufacturing facility for the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals, which must be kept clean, orderly, properly lighted and maintained in optimum operating condition.  Employees handle radioactive materials and are exposed to very low amounts of radiation that are deemed safe by current standards. 

Responsibilities

• Provides support to on-site manufacturing Operations staff for troubleshooting and repairing of all cyclotron systems, support, production, and quality analysis equipment.
• Effectively execute the established maintenance program for cyclotron facility based on production demands and business needs.
• Maintains service tools and site level parts inventory as required by the manufacturing preventive / corrective maintenance program. 
• Provides technical support in investigations of equipment and production failures ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed to a satisfactory level.
• Conducts ongoing analysis to determine equipment trends and performance metrics to maintain reliable, consistent production.
• Implements performance and reliability improvements for assigned systems with guidance from Regional Engineer.
• Performs any other miscellaneous engineering duties as required to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are met. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience (Engineering, Biotechnology, Physical sciences, Chemistry) preferred
• Specific background and experience may be substituted for the degree requirements
• A minimum of 2 + years related work experience preferred
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of large scale (electronic, computing & mechanical) systems
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing in FDA-regulated environment, or comparable mechanical, electronic, laboratory background is preferred
• Working knowledge of Radiation Safety, ALARA Concepts and Radioactive Materials license and handling is preferred
• Ability to lift containers weighing up to 50 lbs
• Crawling, stooping, crouching, and kneeling

Anticipated salary range: $66,500.00- $95,000.00
