The job role: You will be involved in the day to day management of the organisation and supervision of a team consisting of 2 x Mechanical Fitters and 5 x Multi-Skilled Engineers.
Your main role is to supervise and organise a multi - disciplined maintenance engineering team ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner so that the Plant is maintained to meet production demand.
You will: Ensure that the EMMS system is kept up to date with information on all
critical plant, whilst being responsible for;
● Implementing continuous improvements in maintenance practices.
● Managing and maintaining the workshops and associated vehicles.
● Managing Electronic Maintenance Management System (SAP)
● Implementing and enforcing safe working practices and methods of work for the engineering team
● Ensuring that the Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programmes are kept up to date and performed at the recommended frequencies.
● Leading and directing workforce in problem identification, problem solving and implementing continuous improvement measures.
● Communicate with the team on an ongoing basis and make decisions related to productivity, cost reductions and waste elimination.
● Enforcing Imerys Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality standards and procedures and ensuring they are adhered to by the engineering personnel and contractors.
● Have practical experience of writing and working with risk assessment / RAMS
Responsible for communication with the production team i.e. tasks of the day, major equipment, overall production such as;
● Shutdown, equipment returning to operation
● Responsible to maintain minimum / maximum inventory / stock levels to ensure high plant availability whilst identifying items no longer required
● Ensuring engineering equipment is appropriate for the task and is operated in a safe and efficient manner
● Identify and report incidents of unsatisfactory plant performance
● Inspect materials, products and/or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

What do we ask you in return?
You will have planning and prioritising skills, be a problem solver and effective decision maker whilst having;
● Relevant and demonstrated supervisory and people management experience.
● Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety Legislation – desirable
● Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Legislation – desirable
● Related qualification i.e. HNC / HND Apprentice Served Experience Engineer
● Relevant management qualification such as NVQ3 / NVQ4
● IOSH managing safely certificate or H&S Relatable Experience
● Effective team player with proven ability to lead a team.
● Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Lead by example and to be inclusive
● Competent IT skills.
● Ability to negotiate internally and externally.
● Flexible approach to working hours and respond to breakdowns as necessary.
