Cockpit Electronics Support Engineer

As a Cockpit Electronics Support Engineer you will be responsible for the testing and support the delivery of all cockpit hardware systems. This includes test cases and procedures creation, manual test execution including a focus on resolving issues on current production vehicles.
The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence, and a positive attitude. The fast-paced development and bespoke target platform provide a challenging environment suited to an engineer who can quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

Principal Accountabilities
- Write detailed test specifications for all cockpit hardware systems.
- Support the integration of cockpit hardware with the overall vehicle architecture
- Report on current activities, software, hardware status and issues at a business level
- Test on Client Road cars with the latest series implementations and changes
- Assist with fault finding and root cause analysis of software and hardware failures
- Report bugs and create test reports
- Drive issue resolution (QCR) with hardware and software suppliers
- Take responsibility for resolving issues on current production vehicles
- Support for SAP tasks and tools implementation across the team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Several years of work experience in development and delivery of mechanical. electrical or electronic systems for automotive applications
- Experience of the systems development lifecycle (V Model), writing system requirements, defining test cases and writing test procedures
- Successful experience in production and being able to support the vehicle production line
- Experience of managing projects using risk management techniques
- Knowledge with CAD, packaging of components and assembly process
- Understanding of 'A-Surface' interactions and perceived quality concepts
- Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard
- Be well versed in the creation and maintenance of DFMEA's
- Organised, systematic and understand the process of fault finding
- Knowledge of CAN/LIN/Ethernet and related tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer is required
- Familiar with issue tracking tools (Jira, Mantis, Bugzilla etc.)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably 1st or upper 2nd) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, Software Engineering or other relevant engineering subject.

- Passion for the automotive industry, technology and/or infotainment/cockpit electronics would be advantageous but not essential
