Job Description, Role and Key Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging and complex SoC projects with Cadence customers in the semiconductor domain.

The Application Engineer will:

• Provide high level of technical customer support for our products related to digital Design For Test.
• Identify and track technical issues in Customers’ DFT design environment, prioritize these issues considering both Customer's & Cadence's needs and drive their resolution.
• Assist the Customer with DFT flow development, e.g. improve existing design methodologies, develop new methodologies that leverage Cadence tools & services
• Support technical evaluations (including Beta evaluations with Cadence R&D and the customer) of new digital EDA tools, flows and methodologies.
• Provide direct contribution to key design projects, e.g. be responsible for driving Cadence DFT for key tasks on these projects.
• Develop and maintain technical and soft skills to be seen as a trusted EDA tool specialist with a deep knowledge in Cadence's DFT tools.
• Work with the Cadence Sales team to identify additional sales opportunities.

Requirement, Experience, Education

The Application Engineer will:

• Have good understanding of DFT concepts and methodologies (ATPG, SCAN, BIST, …)
• Have some knowledge on our SW tools: Modus, Genus, or similar tools from other EDA vendors.
• Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Be prepared to visit Cadence customers in Southern Europe (France, Italy, Switzerland, …)

Experience in digital DFT design and possibly some of the following disciplines:

• Synthesis
• STA
• RTL design and verification
• CAD support for Digital IC Design and related flows

And,

Good communication skills; Excellent team spirit

Fluent in English

2 to 4 years of experience in microelectronics/EDA industry

Senior Emulation and Prototyping Applications Engineer working with Cadence's hardware platforms to resolve top customer issues onsite.

As an integral member of the North American Field Applications Engineering (AE) Team, you will work directly with industry leading semiconductor and system companies to deploy Cadence’s market leading Palladium acceleration and emulation platform and Protium prototyping platform. In this customer facing role you will provide the front line technical support in the Pre and Post-Sales process and will work with the account team to come up with innovate solutions to address our customers’ most challenging problems.

• Establish technical credibility and rapport with the customer and become the go-to expert for all of their technical inquiries and support

Job Overview:

The Cadence Serdes PHY team based at our R&D center of excellence in Cork, is seeking ambitious analog designers who wish to work on the leading edge of Wireline technology at the highest data rates (112Gbps+) and on the smallest technology nodes (e.g. 3nm).

The PHY team designs products for communication protocols such as PCIe (now at Gen 7) and UCIe (emerging Chiplets standard).

The Principal Verification Engineer will take a Technical Leadership role on the Verification team (Digital & AMS) as part of a SERDES Product Team located at Cork, Ireland.

Job  Responsibilities:

• Verification of High Speed SERDES products at data rates up to and exceeding 112 Gbps on leading edge technology nodes (e.g. 3nm FinFET CMOS)
• Specification, Design and Verification of High Speed PHY IP based on communication protocols (PCIe, Ethernet)
• Verification from initial concept/specification through final verification of conformance to customer specifications using Coverage metric Implementation, Tracking and Closure
• Prototyping, Emulation, Customer delivery and support
• Work with cross-functional teams ranging from architecture, all aspects of circuit design, Layout development, RTL design & Validation, Physical design & Test chip development
• Participate in technical leadership of the team in the areas of digital design and verification, SERDES architectures
• Work with global teams (US, west coast and east coast), which work in different time-zones

Job Qualifications:

• BEng, MEng, PhD or equivalent
• Candidate’s background should include a minimum of 7 years of experience in CMOS SERDES or high-speed I/O IC design and development
• Working knowledge of a set of common SERDES standards
• Wide experience with digital design and verification tools; RTL design using Verilog & verification with System Verilog and UVM
• Experience of Assertion Based Formal Verification essential
• Experience of Front-end design tools covering LINT, Synthesis & CDC Analysis
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Additional Skills/Preferences:         

• Prior experience with post Silicon validation & customer IP deployment of one or more Serial IO IPs/ complex Memory Interface IPs is an added advantage

The Role of Product Engineer Involves the Following Responsibilities

•  Working with sales, application engineers, and developers to create specifi cations for new software features.
• ·Managing the backlog of requests to assign an appropriate priority level to bug fixes and new feature developments.

Simulations can also involve complex physics including acoustics and combustion.

Requirements

• MS in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering (or related degree) + 3 years of relevant experience or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or related degree)
• In depth knowledge of Large Eddy Simulation, aero acoustics, combustion, and multiphase flows
• Working knowledge of Linux and CPU/GPU based high performance computing systems
• General understanding of numerical methods used in CFD
• Demonstrated experience with Python
• Experience using CFD software to perform simulations of industrial applications. This includes geometry preparation, meshing, simulation, and post-processing of results.
