The duties of the Assistant Engineer include completing all tasks assigned by management, safely operating equipment, and working alongside other engineers in the planning, design, development, and evaluation stages of projects. You should be able to diagnose problems and follow instructions in fast-paced environments.
To be successful as an assistant engineer, you should be passionate about your engineering discipline and demonstrate strong logical and critical thinking skills. Outstanding candidates are able to keep track of project expenses, write detailed reports, and ensure consistent quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Understanding and carrying out all tasks given by the management。
2. Collaborating with other engineers and workers to design, develop, test, and improve products and engineering processes.
3. Ensuring all expenses stay within the allocated budget.
4. Performing regular inspections of equipment and scheduling maintenance or repairs.
5. Providing assistance to different staff or engineering teams.
6. Inspecting inventory and reporting inconsistencies as well as ordering more materials.
7. Producing CAD drawings according to specifications.
8. Evaluating all products and processes and ensuring standardization of quality assurance measures.
9. Calibrating and troubleshooting equipment as required.
Requirements
1. Diploma, equivalent or higher in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
2. With relevant past work experience in engineering design environment and with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly and testing is an advantage, fresh graduated also welcome
3. Proven experience using CAD software; knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus
4. Proficient in MS office applications (excel, word, powerpoint)
5. Organization skills and detail-oriented personality
6. Willingness to learn and good team player
7. Excellent in English verbal and written communication skills
8. Proactive, meticulous, and high energy, with good time management
Salary (commensurate with experience): S$2600 – S$ 3600
