This position is located in the Army National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). The position is responsible for providing instruction, evaluation and examination of rated pilots, instructor pilots and aero scout observers in flying techniques and methods of instruction, examination and evaluation. Instruction involves basic and advanced techniques for flying aircraft using instruments. Incumbent is also responsible to the Facility Commander for all aspects of aviation/ground safety matters.

Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list

As a HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (TITLE 32), GS-2181-13, you will:

• Serves as rotary wing Instructor Pilot (IP). Trains and evaluates aviators on basic and advanced flight techniques.
• This includes the procedures to use in emergencies and malfunctions over rough terrain, e.g., hills and forests both day and night.
• Training includes instruction and evaluation for operating unique electronics equipment, such as precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigation and approaches.
• Performs preflight weather analysis, route and altitude selections, alternate airport selection, fuel, cargo and passenger load computations, selection of refueling stops, preflight inspections, flight plan filing, and firing ranges route planning/coordination. Incorporates precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigation and instrument approaches in all mission planning and must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their operations.
• Maintains and studies current and complete files of aeronautical publications, navigation charts, instrument approach procedures, air traffic control procedures.
• Conducts instrument flight qualifications and training which includes, instrument flight planning, precision handling and maneuvering of the aircraft, navigation using the aircraft navigation instruments and systems, air traffic control operations, approach, departure, and holding procedures, and use of the ILS.
• Conducts initial instrument standardization rides for new air crew members and as a minimum conducts annual check rides for assigned and attached pilots.
• Ensures flight crew proficiency and qualification records are standardized and kept current.
• Performs ground maintenance operational checks, trouble shooting, rotor smoothing.
• Maintains requirements and performs function of technical inspector for aircraft assigned.
• Serves as Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) carrying out a variety of duties to provide a productive aviation safety program for the Army Aviation Support Facility.
• Prepares for safety, environmental, hazardous communication, occupational health, and other inspections.
• Responsible for the aviation safety stand-down in conjunction with the aviation units. An inclusive and friendly primary school located in Mill Hill, Barnet is currently looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start ASAP, joining the KS1 support staff team.

Working with children within Key Stage 1 as a SEND TA, some of your duties on a day-to-day basis will include: 

• Supporting and working 1:1 with key children to reach the targets on their EHCPs
• Delivering learning interventions to students 1:1 and in small groups, monitoring and analysing the progress they make both academically and socially
• Ensuring children with SEND are able to access the full curriculum and can join in any activities available, encouraging them to engage and interact with other children
• Providing pupils with a range of learning strategies
• Supporting non-verbal children with Speech and Language activities
• Encouraging development of vocabulary through speech, reading and writing
• Supporting children with SEND in an inclusive environment

This KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant position is to work full time Monday-Friday (8:30am-3:45pm) and to last long-term until the end of the academic year in 2025, with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter. Due to increased pupil numbers we are seeking to appoint an inspirational, motivated and enthusiastic teacher to complement the work of the school. This role is open to primary and secondary trained teachers with a subject specialism in Computing and ICT. The teacher will be delivering our KS3 ICT and Computing Curriculum and discrete ICT/Computing qualifications. At present we deliver ICT qualifications in conjunction with WJEC, ASDAN and NCFE boards from levels Entry 1 to Level 2.
We are looking to develop our curriculum in the coming years to combine ICT and Computing in a functional and meaningful way for our learners. We want our students to be equipped with the skills to thrive and be safe in a technology rich society. We are excited to identify how technological developments can support the refinements of the curriculum to utilise emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
