You Have:

• Experience with machine learning, data science, software engineering, data research, or analytics, in a professional or academic environment
• Experience with research practices and methodologies
• Experience with frequent scripting language use, including Python and R, and packages used in machine learning applications or advanced data analytics

Responsible for the delivery of flight training in a flight simulator and ground school in accordance with the appropriate regulatory agency, CAE approved curriculum, and customer requirements.   Act as subject matter expert (SME) ready to lead client(s) through their training.  After 1.5+ years, per business needs, designated Instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

•    Provides simulator/flight or classroom instruction on one or more aircraft types as assigned for the issue of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.

•    Responsible for conducting pre and post flight simulator briefings in a thorough, professional manner in accordance with CAE standards

•    Other required administrative duties (completes training records, recommends remedial training when necessary, track his/her own instructional qualifications and activity, etc.)

•    Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in creation of curricula and courseware when required

Education / Skills / Background
•    Associate degree or college degree preferred; High School diploma or state issued equivalent required
•    2-5 years of related job-relevant experience
•    Previous experience teaching or training of others preferred.  
•    Proven experience demonstrating a customer service orientation of work assignments.
•    Must be authorized to live/work in the United States
•    Basic computer proficiency, Microsoft Office, and other internet-based programs

Summary of the Job:

At this level, the Simulator Technician III performs complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory. Projects may be of experimental or design nature.  The Simulator Technician III has demonstrated the ability to solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems. The ideal candidate meets the desired skills and experience listed below and fosters a positive work environment thru his/her strong teamwork and reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Diagnose and correct complex problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Utilize Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
• Train technicians in basic skills and provide technical training for other technicians.
• Complete all designated training activities.
• Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
• Perform preflight and post flight on all simulators.
• Perform visual alignments.
• Run and Evaluate QTG results.
• Assist Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.

  The SCM program is designed to train and qualify program members to provide “right seat support” for our clients attending FAA-approved 14 CFR 142 curriculum courses at our facilities. We seek local candidates for our Whippany, New Jersey location for this on-call SCM position.

  What to expect?  

  CAE offers a comprehensive training program to help transform your knowledge and skills as a pilot and help clients through their training as a second in command.  Responsible for delivering seat support in the simulator to a wide array of clients with varied experiences and objectives. This can range from FAA 135 and 91 operations to EASA or any number of NAAs. While you may not hold a type rating in the aircraft, you are expected to maintain proficiency in your skill set as a qualified crew member. Your position may also include seat support for simulator evaluation events from CAE or any governing agency wishing to verify the status of our simulators.

  Job requirements include:

  • Workdays of up to 11 or more hours (typically not more than 6 hours in the simulator at one time).
  • Must provide up to 3 weeks or more of time to complete the initial training.
  • The workday of an SCM can be scheduled for any day of the week at any time of day, per the candidate’s availability.
  • SCMs will need to meet all TSA requirements.
  • SCMs must be able to commit to their training session if agreed upon previously.
  •  SCMs will be expected to provide a minimum of 35 events in a rolling 12-month period. (see SCM brochure) 
     

  Qualifications:

  • Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate
  • Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL)   
  • Instrument rating airplane multi-engine land, with 50 hours of multi-engine and instrument experience
  • 400 hours Total Time (100 hours of the turbine, preferred)
  • Available for a minimum of 35 events in 12 months to stay current and receive recurrent training.
  • Must live within the Whippany, New Jersey area.
  • Must be able to commit 10-15 days of work a month.
  • Scheduling is at a minimum of 5 hours at a time and could be scheduled 24/7

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, the Simulator Flight Instructor I will be responsible for the delivery of training primarily in a flight simulator or other training device, but also when required in ground school, in accordance with the appropriate regulatory and customer requirements.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Delivery of instructor led training / Part 142 training to CAE customers
• Delivery of ATP/CTP courses – ground school and sim sessions on the A320 platform..
• Conduct pre and post flight simulator briefings in a thorough, professional manner and in accordance with CAE standards.
• Conduct each simulator session in accordance with the CAE, aircraft manufacturer or the customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). 
• Provide simulator flight instruction for the issue of licenses, type ratings and certificates.
• Complete the appropriate client training records accurately and comprehensively to ensure client understanding and a seamless handover to other instructors.
• Recommend, where necessary, remedial training for a client who is not meeting the required training progress.
• Record simulator usage and discrepancies using the appropriate procedures.
• Track the validity of instructional qualifications to ensure that he/she remains qualified to deliver training at all times in accordance with contractual commitments. 
• Act as subject matter expert in creation of curricula and courseware when required.
• Accept training for examiner responsibilities when required by the Head of Training.
• Act as invigilator when examination is conducted

Qualifications 

• Should be typed on the A320 platform. Need not be current.
• At least 2 years as part of a FAA Part 121 program.
• Ready to work night shifts as required by simulator availability.
• Bachelor degree in job-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Passes in all Airline Transport Pilots License written exams.
• Minimum experience required by the Regulatory Authority issuing instructor rating.
• Hold an existing instructor qualification or -rating issued by a Regulatory Authority desirable.
• Meet the relevant minimum qualification and experience requirements for qualification as a Simulator Instructor.
• Hold or has held a professional pilots’ license.
• A working knowledge of the relevant aviation regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under adverse circumstances.
• Strong focus on quality with a continuous drive towards process improvement & customer satisfaction.
• Ability to concentrate and work in a fast paced environment. 
• Readily accept changes and adjust accordingly.
• Fluency in English

Job Description:

Centerstone’s Research Institute Hybrid Internship: Florida

At Centerstone’s Research Institute (CRI), we conduct research to prevent and cure mental illness and addiction. We also work to translate research into meaningful clinical practices and implement research-based strategies in real-world settings, thereby reducing the research-to-practice gap. CRI’s workforce is interdisciplinary and comprised of Physicians, Psychologists, Dissemination and Implementation Scientists, Counselor Educators, Program Evaluators, Social Workers, Public Health Advisors, Biostatisticians, Clinical Transformation Specialists, Design Thinking Experts, and others. We collaborate with Academic Medical Schools, Universities, Statewide Mental Health and Public Health Departments, and Veteran-Serving Institutions in much of our work.  Centerstone’s Research Institute is a company of Centerstone, the nation’s largest nonprofit mental health company who provides community-based behavioral health care, substance-abuse treatment and intellectual and developmental disabilities services in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Our Interns would mostly be calling and working with clients to gather data about their experiences.  This internship will provide interns with data collection, data entry and interviewing experience along with the possibility of data analysis experience as well.  We will provide interns with a look into the world of evaluation and research.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Intern Location: Day-to-day duties will be hybrid; two days will be in the Bradenton, FL clinic. 

Intern will be based in Bradenton, Florida.  Technology equipment will be provided.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities

• Intern will work with evaluation team to conduct enrollment interviews with active clients following this procedure:

  • Contact eligible clients over the phone within seven (7) calendar days of attending their first qualifying appointment.

  • Obtain informed consent from client or caregiver.

  • Conduct required client-level service questionnaire through survey management software, if consent is provided.

  • Enter and maintain records in data management database.

• Intern will participate as an active team member in the implementation and maintenance of grant projects (e.g., provide ongoing information from client interviews for project improvement, etc.).

• Intern will work with clinical on days that they are working in the clinic to take vitals of clients; Intern is required to complete training before assisting clinical team with vital intake.

• Intern will complete enrollment interviews in person as needed at the clinic.

• Intern will participate in client and community engagement as needed; such as collecting data for needs assessment and enrolling clients into the community advisory committee.

Desired Skills

• Willingness to gain experience in conducting interviews/assessments with behavioral health clients on the phone

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff, and supervisors as intern will work closely with other team members

• Possesses organizational skills to maintain records and coordinate other tasks as assigned

• Person-centered focus; knowledge/experience in mental health and substance use

• Skilled in speaking to persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds with mental and physical disorders

• Willingness to learn how to use REDCap, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and other software.

• Knowledge of co-occurring populations a plus

• Detail-oriented with good time management and critical thinking skills

• Able to listen closely and carefully

• Comfort with checking understanding of what the person is saying

• Ability to match and pace conversation with the person on the phone’s tone, speed and volume

• Ability to avoid monotone (e.g., mix up tone, speed and volume in order to keep the person on the phone engaged)

• Ability to voice gratitude for the person’s participation and give clear succinct directions and timelines for when the person will be called in the future

• Creative and flexible

Internship Requirements

• In the process of completing a Bachelor’s degree in social science, mental health care, communications or related field

• Experience in customer services or telephonic based work a plus

• This position will work the number of required hours per week in accordance with internship requirements, primarily during the day
