We are a Community Special School for children and young people from the ages of 2-19 years, with 110 on roll. Our pupils have severe learning difficulties, or profound and multiple learning difficulties. The designation of the school means that pupils typically have complex needs, and medical needs requiring a high degree of differentiation and bespoke provision. In most cases our pupils will be working below the national curriculum and the equivalent of Expected Levels for NCY1.

We provide pupils with opportunities for integrated educational experiences across shared sites with mainstream schools.

The Oxford Critical Care fellowship programme is open to applications for our advanced simulation and education fellowship. The fellowship aims to
simultaneously develop experience and formal qualifications for simulation based critical care teaching with dedicated weekly activity. The remainder of
the fellowship is delivered within the Oxford Critical Care at the John Radcliffe Hospital site and the ICU at the Churchill Hospital.

Post will allow the development of the following areas:
1 Training in technology-enhanced education. Links with the OxSTaR
Centre will enable candidates to develop technical, pedagogical and facilitation skills in technology-enhanced education, including simulation and virtual reality. As a member of the OxSTaR faculty, you will be supervised and supported to become a confident, independent facilitator for various multi-disciplinary and cross-speciality educational activities.

2 Formal high-level teaching qualification. Successful candidates will
be encouraged to complete a formal educational qualification during
the fellowship. The exact course is open to dialogue with your
supervisor but should reflect the chosen focus of the fellowship year.

3 Delivery of training. The successful candidate will act as an
embedded dedicated trainer to aid delivery of various existing critical

We are hiring a Senior Research Software Engineer based at the Department of Computer Science, under the supervision of Professor Andrew Markham. This is a cross-disciplinary project between the Departments of Computer Science and Biology and the successful post-holder will be working on the NERC funded Morphocam project. This project seeks to develop and release machine learning/AI tools to enable precise, metrics measurements to be made on camera trap images of wild animals.

As a Senior Research Sofware Engineer (Machine Learning), you will research, adapt and exploit existing deep learning models and frameworks to build an efficient and user-friendly processing pipeline. You will need extensive experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g. pytorch/tensorflow) and ML-ops for scaling systems into production. You will need to be able to communicate well and work easily with domain users (e.g. field biologists) to understand their needs and problems. You will be independent and self-driven, with a clear approach to project management and delivery. You will also have a strong publication record with a strong ambition towards to top-tier publications and dataset releases.

You will hold a relevant Ph.D/D.Phil and possess experience in software engineering development. Research experience in computer vision and deep learning or similar is required.

3 Key Areas of Responsibility3.1 Clinical Plan and coordinate your day-to-day work in collaboration with the Senior ResearchNurse management team. Ensure the safe administration of treatments given within the context of a clinical trial. Manage a caseload of people who have consented to participate in certain studies. Undertake study procedures required and in line with the research protocol. Provide accurate and timely information, education and support to patients (and theirsignificant others) regarding clinical research. Maintain accurate documentation. Have an understanding of adverse event reporting and recording, and ensure that thePrincipal Investigator and Central Study Team is made aware of any such events. Act at all times in a way that maintains patients and carers dignity. Refer to other specialists as required in order to provide optimal patient care.3.2 Research Work according to GCP and research governance standards for all aspects of workpractice. Support studies running in both the community and in the clinical trial units Act as Study Co-ordinator for Clinical Trials and Research Studies, under indirectsupervision of Senior Research Nurse Input to recruitment strategies. Support and assist in the development of action plans asrequired Assist in the identification of patients eligible to enter clinical studies. Have an awareness of legislation and the Mental Capacity Act; take informed consent asper study protocols. Register/randomise patients into studies. Adhere to clinical study protocols and report protocol deviations and violations to studycoordinator. Ensure that clinical trial records are accurately maintained. Ensure that own case report forms are accurately completed, in paper and electronicformat. Communicate effectively with the rest of the study team and patients/carers. Support the Senior Research Nurses in the event of inspection from a regulatory and/ormonitoring authority. Provide support for clinical trial colleagues in their absence. Attend meetings relevant to the nature of the job. Keep up to date with departmental, Trust, NHS, and EU developments for themanagement of clinical research Travel as required by the network to research locations across the organisation.3.3 Administration Use computer network and the internet. Ensure that all data is handled according to the Data Protection Act and in a confidentialand where necessary anonymised fashion.3.4 Education and Training Promote research within the Trust and across the network in relation to clinical trials. Assist in the education and support of clinicians and service users. Continue your own personal and professional development keeping updated with currentpractice. The Role of the Clinical Research Nurse | NIHR

The main base is the John Radcliffe Hospital, the post-holder will lead in the provision of a clinical study service.
• Study Coordination of commercial trials and large cohort studies.
• Delivery of complex investigative medicines.
• Supporting invasive and complex outpatient procedures.
• Working closely with the team to deliver the wider portfolio of studies.
• You will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical studies focused mainly on neurodegenerative diseases, neurology and ageing.
• Recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data including collection and management of tissue and/or samples.
• Supporting a wide range of research clinics.
• Processing lab samples.
• Conducting assessments as per the study protocol.
• Collecting physical assessments.
• Supervising and supporting junior staff.

Our team is part of Division 4 Neurology, Mental Health, Ageing and Neurodegenerative diseases with the Thames Valley and South Midlands area.

We are a diverse team of research nurses, practitioners and administrators. Working closely with clinicians to support and deliver research across our patient groups. The team comes from a variety of backgrounds such as Nursing, Mental Health, Psychology, Biochemistry and NHS to name a few.

The CRN: Thames Valley and South Midlands is one of 15 local Clinical Research Networks in the NIHR Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN). The NIHR CRN is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS in England, tasked with supporting the rapid set-up and effective conduct of studies, so that researchers can gather the robust evidence needed to improve treatments for NHS patients. These local Networks drive clinical research delivery performance across the locality, and champion the role of clinical research in the NHS at every level.
