Art & Textiles Teacher - West Leicestershire Secondary School

We are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' Secondary school in West Leicestershire who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Art and Textiles Teacher to start after Christmas. This is a full-time and long-term position with the opportunity of going temp to perm for the right candidate. To be successful, you will be an Art Teacher with recent experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4. Experience of teaching Textiles is desirable but not essential.

Job Description

• Delivering engaging and creative Art lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
• Contributing to the development of the department's curriculum.
• Participating in extracurricular activities such as sports clubs and school trips.

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in art & design or related field
• Recent experience teaching Art and/or Textiles at secondary school level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members

Your new role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with a teacher to provide teaching and learning support to pupils as well as supporting other associated activities in line with school policies and procedures. In this job, you will help to create a safe learning environment under the direct supervision of ateacher. Your new role will involve encouraging a high standard of behaviour, developing relationships with pupils and teachers and supporting the use of learning materials in the classroom.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this new job as a Learning Support Assistant you will have an NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent OR you will be able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to working as a Learning Support Assistant. It is important that you have experience supporting teaching and learning in a classroom environment.You will need to have a good knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
