As a Director, Global Medical Safety – Surgical you serve as the medical and scientific safety leader for assigned Alcon projects or products. You will be trusted to work on the integration, analysis, and interpretation of safety information from clinical development through post-approval lifecycle. In this role, located in Fort Worth, Texas, a typical day will include:

• Responsible for key internal Alcon safety documents. Develop and update these documents with new or changes in product safety information. Ensure accurate and high-quality outputs.
• Responsible for overall signal detection, monitoring, evaluation, and appropriate management of safety information from relevant line functions, clinical studies, post-marketing experience, literature, and other sources. Lead the Safety Management Team (SMT).
• Responsible for post-market surveillance plans, periodic safety updates, product labeling and related documents, including safety information to support product claims.
• Responsible for health hazard assessments and responses to inquiries from health authorities, health care professionals, and legal on safety issues. Prepare safety data for health authority review boards.
• Provide medical and scientific guidance to local affiliates on safety issues.
• Provide medical and scientific input to the clinical development program for assigned projects/brands. This includes input to Data Safety Monitoring Board and Safety Adjudication Committee activities, as required.
• Provide integrated safety input into all regulatory documents required during active product development.
• Ensure timely communication of safety information to Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance for applicable product portfolio.
• Prepare and present safety issues to Alcon Boards and other meetings.
• Provide guidance on safety topics, initiate and maintain productive cross-functional collaborations internally with R&D colleagues, business partners, and externally.
• Ensure support for business development and licensing activities, regulatory inspections/audits, and market action activities.
• Foster an innovative culture, ensuring a collaborative, high performing SMT.
• Provide resource coverage and support project activities across therapeutic areas to ensure timely safety deliverables, when needed.
• May function as a deputy for Head, Medical Safety and Compliance for assigned activities.

Summary

CAE provides support to the JID’s responsibilities as the JCS proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations (JTO) Interface Training Program, with the objective of ensuring that operational forces can exploit the full capability of JTO Interface Systems.  Support covers the full range of functions required to plan, develop, coordinate and manage the JTO training program to include courseware development and world-wide formal academic training and joint exercise support to support joint, allied and coalition air and ground forces in the employment of JTO Interface capabilities. Annually CAE conducts approximately 30 Joint/U.S. Training Courses (CONUS and OCONUS) producing approximately 2000 graduates, and 30 Allied Training Courses (OCONUS) producing approximately 500 graduates for 10 allied nations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, instruct, revise, and maintain JID course materials.
• Perform curriculum reviews, courseware development, and multimedia enhancements, especially in an electronic classroom.
• Support world-wide deployed mobile training team requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and related experience.
• 4 years JICO experience or a combination of JICO and/or other directly related experience, e.g. Air Battle Manager/Air Weapons Officer/Intercept Control Officer;
• Must be able to obtain and maintain JICO Instructor qualifications if no prior JICO qualifications held
• Experience with Variable Message Format over Combat Net Radio (VMF over CNR) and/or Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) highly desired
• Multi TDL experience or training
• Military instructor experience
• Former Field Grade Military Officer, Warrant Officer or Senior NCO
• Capable of worldwide deployment supporting Mobile Training Teams, often under field conditions, 
• Secret security clearance required.

Summary

CAE provides support to the JID’s responsibilities as the JCS proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations (JTO) Interface Training Program, with the objective of ensuring that operational forces can exploit the full capability of JTO Interface Systems.  Support covers the full range of functions required to plan, develop, coordinate and manage the JTO training program to include courseware development and world-wide formal academic training and joint exercise support to support joint, allied and coalition air and ground forces in the employment of JTO Interface capabilities. Annually CAE conducts approximately 30 Joint/U.S. Training Courses (CONUS and OCONUS) producing approximately 2000 graduates, and 30 Allied Training Courses (OCONUS) producing approximately 500 graduates for 10 allied nations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum, conduct instruction, and maintain JID courses
• Liaison with operational Combatant Commander staffs for exercise planning and preparation.
• Prepare or review OPTASK LINK messages for use in JTO exercises.
• Assist in selection, modification, or request of Link 16 networks to support JTO exercises.
• Perform analysis of multi-TDL architecture performance and institute changes based on observations.
• Coordinate with development and acquisition agencies for procurement of, and evaluate JICO automated tools.
• Maintain configuration management of the JICO automated tools.
• Operate the Link 16 Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS) and assist users with Frequency Clearance and Time Slot Duty Factor (TSDF) issues.
• Represent JID at joint and combined interoperability working groups.
• Provide course planning and administration, which includes development and maintenance of schedules, scheduling hands-on field training, student briefs, handouts and administrative documents, and student notification processes.
• Develop, instruct, revise, and maintain JID course materials.
• Perform curriculum reviews, courseware development, and multimedia enhancements, especially in an electronic classroom.
• Support world-wide deployed mobile training team requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and related experience.
• 4 years JICO experience or a combination of JICO and/or other directly related experience, e.g. Air Battle Manager/Air Weapons Officer/Intercept Control Officer;
• Must be able to obtain and maintain JICO Instructor qualifications if no prior JICO qualifications held
• Experience with Variable Message Format over Combat Net Radio (VMF over CNR) and/or Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) highly desired
• Multi TDL experience or training
• Military instructor experience
• Former Field Grade Military Officer, Warrant Officer or Senior NCO
• Capable of worldwide deployment supporting Mobile Training Teams, often under field conditions, 
• Secret security clearance required.

Preferred Skills

• ISD or curriculum development experience

• Experience working with diverse students, using distance learning technology, and/or building relationships in rural settings
