Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Barbering at HMP The Verne.
This is a full time, permanent role.

Day to day duties of the role
To deliver a high quality curriculum delivering Barbering courses or an alternative as led by the Weston College management team.
Preparation, assessment and marking.
Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.
Required skills and qualifications
A degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. (In relation to vocational teaching posts an appropriate qualification in that field will be deemed satisfactory).
All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
HMP The Verne
HMP The Verne, a Category C men's prison on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, prioritises education through partnerships with Weston College and the Open University.
