The award-winning University of Dundee Careers Service aims to help all students and graduates realise and achieve their future goals through provision of careers education, advice and guidance and a wide range of opportunities for development of professional skills.
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Work Related Learning (WRL) Co-ordinator. The enhancement and expansion of work-related learning for all students is an area of focus of the University strategy and this post will play a key role in supporting this activity. In this newly created role, you will be joining the Careers Service at a time of growth and development and will have an instrumental role in supporting the University's vision to embed work related learning through all degree programmes.
Using excellent skills in administration, communication, organisation, and team working the
WRL Co-ordinator will support the team with the co-ordination of the administration of WRL activities to ensure students and employers have a positive experience.
You'll have the opportunity to use your communication and creative skills to share student and employer work related learning stories to inspire and educate others of the value of such activities.
As part of an engaged, supportive, and forward thinking team you'll have the chance to share your ideas and be involved in the future of WRL at the University of Dundee.
Your priorities will include:
- The post holder will co-ordinate the administration of placement processes including updating databases, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with procedures.
- The post holder will work with colleagues, employers, and students to record and monitor the collection and sharing of outcomes of work-related learning to celebrate success and share elements of good practice with the aim of increasing engagement.
- You'll be keen to highlight the value of WRL through preparing materials for sharing with/by colleagues. This could be via video, text, and audio content via a range of mediums including social media, website, and biogs.
- Using strong administrative skills, the post holder will use internal systems to track, record and maintain records of all communication and conversations in a timely manner.

- The successful post holder will be a confident communicator who enjoys working with a range of colleagues and stakeholders which could include employers, students, and university colleagues. You will be an enthusiastic team player who is able to work towards common goals whilst also being able to work independently on key tasks.
- You will have professional experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders and gathering information which you have shared via a range of mediums for example via written, video, blog, websites, and social media.
- Excellent written skills are crucial to this post -you will have an adaptable written style appropriate to the audience to which you are communicating.
- You will have knowledge of the importance of work-related learning and an enthusiasm for enhancing the employability of our student population.
