In your role as the Events Practical Section Team Leader you will work in a small team handling fragile artwork, building exhibitions of artwork for upcoming events, and organising artwork to be returned to schools/colleges. You will train and lead a team of temporary staff, organising their daily/weekly workload, and working to tight deadlines to ensure all stored artwork is returned and all new artwork is itemised and logged.

You will have a basic of 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for the length of this contract), with Bank Holidays on top and a working week of 35 hours. There is a good pension; you can contribute up to 7% and we will put in 11.5% giving 18.5% towards your pension. You’ll be joining a friendly team in a supportive environment where you’ll be a part of helping art students from across the country showcase their hard work to get the exam results they deserve.
What do I need to be successful?
Experience working within a logistical/despatch environment is required
Knowledge of how to use CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) to respond to customer queries is beneficial
Good PC skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications
A keen and careful eye for detail to ensure accuracy
Ability to prioritise and manage workload
Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
Problem solving skills to support dealing with queries

Summary
In your role as the Events Practical Section Team Leader you will work in a small team handling fragile artwork, building exhibitions of artwork for upcoming events, and organising artwork to be returned to schools/colleges. You will train and lead a team of temporary staff, organising their daily/weekly workload, and working to tight deadlines to ensure all stored artwork is returned and all new artwork is itemised and logged.Landscape: To assist the Events Production Co-ordinator with the building and dismantling of exhibitions, organising the return and collection of student artwork from schools/colleges, and leading a team of summer temporary staff with securely packaging up artwork to be returned to schools/colleges as well as the booking in of artwork received.
Activities:
Training and supervising a team of temporary staff to follow the Practical Section processes of securely storing and returning of school/college student artwork
Working alongside the Events Production Co-ordinator to map out timelines for the summer series
Organising and support the Art and Design awarding meetings for both GCSE and A-level
Supporting the Lead Events Producer and the Events Production Co-ordinator with the organisation of the Guildford office restructure, and liaise with the Facilities team around requirements for the safe storage of the student artwork and the Practical Section equipment
Liaising with overseas schools/colleges to organise student artwork to be sent into the Guildford office
Organising and support the Art and Design overseas moderation meetings for both GCSE and A-level (may require weekend work)
Assisting the Lead Events Producer and the Events Production Co-ordinator with the setup of the Art and Design teacher standardisation selection meetings
Using our database to track and monitor student artwork in the Guildford office, and provide lists to temporary staff of the artwork we hold for schools/college so it can be collected and safely returned
Updating our database to ensure all artwork stored is itemised, and updated to show whether the artwork has been used for an exhibition, or returned to the school/college
Building exhibitions of artwork for annual events, and anonymising all work to ensure no personal information can be accessible when the exhibitions are outside of the Guildford office
Liaising with Facilities team around organising postal services and couriers to safely return artwork
Answering customer queries using our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics)
Liaising with schools/colleges around the collection of artwork, and sending out packaging to ensure safety in transit
Ensuring sufficient stock levels of packaging materials for the collection, return, and storage of artwork, and ordering additional supplies where stock is low
Need to know (to be successful in this role, you will need to know):
How to successfully lead a team, including creating daily/weekly workplans
How to work to tight deadlines
How organise and run internal meetings with external stakeholders
How to safely handle fragile artwork
How to construct large exhibtions of artwork
