The Medical Education department are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual able to support our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with performance and chief of staff responsibilities. As a strategist, consultant and implementer, the postholder will plan and direct all strategic, financial and operational activities across the Department and will ensure streamlined activities based on the priorities of the Director of Medical Education and the Medical Education Strategy. The Head of Performance supports, facilitates and monitors the delivery of all the Department’s functions according to circumstances and needs and will focus on making time, information and decision processes more effective. They will ensure that all functions and workstreams are aligned and connected to avoid silo working that could contradict or slow progress and achievement against strategic objectives. Vital to the delivery of all of the above will be the postholder’s strong and effective people skills and the ability build extremely effective relationships that empower and enable people to deliver.
The Head of Performance will act as an adviser to the SLT and will assist them in effective decision-making. The postholder will coordinate, across the Department, the execution of strategic initiatives and will ensure the delivery, across all functions, of key performance indicators and outcomes. A crucial part of the role will be the effective and appropriate communication of the priorities, directives and decision-making of the SLT and the engaging of all staff in delivery of these.
The Head of Performance will be responsible for the delegation of activity, workstreams and projects, as directed by the SLT, to the appropriate teams and individuals.
The postholder will ensure that all staff and HR issues are addressed effectively, efficiently and judiciously and will be responsible for ensure that records, tracking of progress on issues to be resolved, key performance indicators and staff survey results and action plans are accurately created, maintained and used appropriately and in line with Trust policy.
The Head of Performance will plan and direct all financial activity.
