We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist setting, where we support children aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This full-time position offers an opportunity to play a crucial role in providing personalized support and fostering a positive learning experience for our students.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Support Individual Learning: Work closely with students to implement tailored educational plans, helping them achieve their learning goals and develop essential skills.
- Promote Emotional Well-being: Provide emotional and behavioral support, creating a safe and encouraging environment for children to express themselves and overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with Educators: Partner with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver effective strategies for managing classroom behavior and promoting engagement.
- Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and report on students' progress, adapting support strategies as needed to ensure each child's needs are met.
- Engage with Families: Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, offering updates on their child's progress and collaborating on strategies for continued development.
Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service(or willingness to apply for one)
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
