Key Responsibilities
• Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of all students, following the national curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, maintaining good behaviour and ensuring a safe space for learning.
• Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable targets.
• Individual Support: Offer additional support to students with varying needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have access to the full curriculum.
• Parent and Guardian Communication: Engage with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and discussing strategies for improvement.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest educational trends, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
• Collaborative Planning: Work closely with colleagues to plan and coordinate school-wide events, activities, and curriculum development.
• Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria
• Experience: Proven experience in teaching, with a strong understanding of different teaching methodologies and classroom management techniques.
• Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS) and relevant subject expertise.
• Passion for Teaching: A genuine passion for education, with a warm, caring, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to various teaching environments and student needs, and flexibility in accepting different teaching assignments.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students, as well as collaborate with staff and parents.
• Commitment to Continuous Improvement: A proactive approach to professional growth and a desire to continually improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.
• Safeguarding Commitment: A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices, with all candidates required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
