About Us
The Tregothnan Estate is home to the Boscawen family who have lived here since 1334. The Estate has maintenance, gardening and joinery teams that maintain the core estate and manage the beautiful surroundings which are on the edge of the River Fal. The Estate is also a landlord with a substantial portfolio of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.
Through its day to day running, the Estate produces tea (the only UK grown blend), honey and jam, which are sold by our trading team; and rents holiday accommodation. The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Tea Production Operative, to join our friendly team, where we grow, produce and distribute some of the world’s rarest and highest rated tea. If you like variety, are practical, hands-on and would like to be part of a growing Cornish business, this could be the ideal role for you.
Duties include:
- Ensure tea machines and equipment are running to full capacity at all times.
- Basic tea machine maintenance.
- Daily cleaning of machines and work area.
- Understand run requirements for tea production, plan work and produce small and large batches to meet customer orders.
- Set up and operate tea blending machinery before each production run, for different types of tea, to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Make up boxes for tea.
About You
You will need:
- To be practical.
- A willingness to learn to operate machinery and undertake basic maintenance.
- A flexible attitude to work and willingness to change tasks as and when required.
- The ability to work on your own, use your initiative, and also as part of a team.
- A high degree of attention to detail, conscientiousness, and ability to work to production schedules.
- Good communication skills, as well as a positive and professional attitude.
- Good literacy skills and basic IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport, as we are in a rural location with no access to public transport.
Whilst previous experience operating machinery and undertaking basic maintenance is desirable, full training into the role will be given.
