The Glider Maintenance Training Supervisor will be responsible for classroom and practical instruction on topics within the aircraft discipline and various allied subjects. You will provide support and coaching to our maintenance personnel and aircrew within 2 Flying Training School (2FTS) in order to ensure they are working and operating in accordance with our safety culture and regulations.
You will carry out associated roles and duties as directed by the business needs.
You will be based at RAF Syerston but will be required to satisfy the regular UK-wide mobile requirements of the role.

Main Accountabilities:


- Lesson preparation ensuring Regulatory and Statutory compliance through competency checks, engineering updates, and maintaining records of all training and authorisations.
- Conduct all contractually required training including Initial and Continuation training of GMS Engineering Personnel, Central Gliding School (CGS) and nominated Volunteer Gliding Squadron (VGS) aircrew. (Includes working up to one weekend per month and at various locations in the UK).
- The participation at the Annual VGS Technical Officers’ symposium which includes delivery of briefings and instruction as necessary (one weekend per year).
- Be capable of carrying out the responsibilities and duties of Certifying Staff in accordance with the relevant regulations, to be able to facilitate training of certifying staff.
- Assist with itinerary and on site POC for all Work Experience Projects, including apprentices when required.
- Achieving and maintaining own authorisations and currency.
- Deputise for the Lead Trainer in their absence.



What you’ll need to do the role:

- Be a Qualified Aircraft Airframe and/or Propulsion Mechanic/Technician or a Qualified Aircraft Avionics (Electrical/Avionics) Technician – (City and Guilds Aeronautical Engineering Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent or higher qualification.
- Be appropriately experienced and have completed, as a minimum, MOD Phase 2 technical training; or be appropriately experienced and have completed suitable civilian training.
- Demonstrate having held authority or potential to sign for duplicate inspections (civilian) or independent inspections (military).
- Experience in delivering training both on an individual basis or in a classroom environment.
- Adaptable and able to positively support the Training Controller, you will be able to prioritise and plan your own workload and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels.
- Has a minimum of 5-years’ experience in either a Civil aviation or Military aviation environment, in a relevant trade group.
- Has been employed ‘on-aircraft’, within the last 6-years.

We are looking for someone who has up to date industry skills. This is an ideal opportunity to instil best practise and have an influence on shaping the next generation entering the industry.

In this role, you will be delivering practical and theory sessions to groups of apprentices and engaging with employers to assess apprentices’ competence in the workplace, which is why you will need such a strong technical skillset as well as excellent interpersonal skills. We have high standards for our students in the tracking and recording of work and assessments so you will need to be well organised and efficient and a confident user of IT. Ideally, you will have teaching qualifications and appropriate industry qualifications.

Co-op Academy Southfield (11-19 special school) is looking for a Healthcare Supervisor- Education to join our Care and Wellbeing Team. You’ll provide specialist knowledge to support pupils with complex health and physical needsrequiring medical and therapy interventions. Implement agreed health interventions includingadministering medication to individuals as defined by NHS Care Plans and Education, Healthand Care Plans (EHCPs). Edinburgh University Library is looking for a Library Learning Services Supervisor to support the delivery and development of the Resource Lists service, which uses Leganto to provide students with online reading lists and to manage the provision of library materials for teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy academic library supporting a key service.

This is an open-ended (permanent) post. The current working pattern is Monday-Friday 9-5pm (35 hours per week). Hybrid working is an option with a minimum of three / four days a week working on campus. When you work on campus, you will be based in the Main Library, George Square.

What the job involves:

You will join the Library Learning Services team and help us support delivery of the Resource List service that provides online reading lists for students and which the Library uses to manage the provision of materials for teaching.

You will manage a team creating Resource Lists using the Library’s reading list system (Leganto) and Library Management System (Alma). As Line Manager to 5 FTE Library Assistants and additional student interns at peak times, you will develop your team, supporting them to deliver a high standard of service to all users.

You will contribute to the development of the Resource Lists service by co-ordinating relationships with library teams and keeping up to date with system developments to identify improvements to policy, workflow and processes. You will also deliver user training to academic and other staff on systems and services supported by the team.

This is an interesting and varied role with the opportunity to work closely with a range of teams across the University.
