The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Coordinates the efforts of Business Operating Division training programs, including program guidance, resource allocation, synchronization of training activities, reporting, and metrics. Organizes periodic training and leadership conferences to coordinate efforts of business unit training programs, assess program effectiveness, and solicit feedback.
• Serves as an advisor for training and workforce development initiatives throughout the CFO organization.
• Develops operational procedures, conducts periodic evaluations of internal training and career pathing programs, staffing analysis, and prepares reports of findings.
• Conducts annual review of program requirements, prepares programming budgeting requests, and develops plans for use of training and salary resources.
• Expert at monitoring training expenditures and obligations in the financial management account systems; recommends modifications as appropriate. Supports all phases of the assigned training or personnel programs, to include developing the monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements. Independently prepares funding document for training with a cost.

This position has career progression. If you are selected at a grade level lower than the full working level, you may be non-competitively promoted as your career progresses. For example, you may be hired as a GS-05, but if the position has career progression to GS-11, then you may move from a GS-05 to a GS-11 in as little as three years.

About the opportunity

Established as the first computer science department in Australia, the School of Computer Science (SCS) is research-intensive and has a strong tradition of research-led teaching. The School offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, data science and software development within its flagship Bachelor of Advanced Computing degree and combined degree programs with commerce and science. SCS is one of the seven schools in the Faculty of Engineering, which has a strong position within Australia and worldwide.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to a range of research activities focused on novel interactive systems, extended reality, and human-centred artificial intelligence. In this role, you will conduct high-quality research, publish research works in top-tier conferences and journals and assist with supervising PhD/MPhil students.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• lead and contribute to research publications and present findings at relevant conferences and seminars,
• manage the activities of a brand-new research laboratory, including selection, procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment (e.g. motion capture systems, VR/AR headsets, sensors, etc.)
• develop interactive prototypes and research demonstrators
• collaborate in the planning and organisation of events, seminars, and workshops related to the research area
• lead or participate in the preparation and submission of research grants
• provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and assist in their research projects.
• engage with external stakeholders from industry and government


About you

The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) at the South Thames Colleges Group is looking for a Digital Learning Resources Advisor – someone to support students and staff with the use of LRC services, online library and digital learning resources.
Based at Kingston College, the Digital Learning Resources Advisor will provide frontline support in the College Learning Centre and they will create online guides and content for the Group’s Student Portal. They will select and embed digital resources, including e-books, in the Group’s virtual learning environment. There are two staffed Learning Centres at Kingston College – a recently built, modern Learning Centre and the Learning Centre at the College’s Creative Industries Centre.
We’d like our Digital Learning Resources Advisor to hold a Level 3 qualification and have experience of working in a customer focused environment, delivering a good or better level of customer service. You’ll have excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word as well as good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. Able to work effectively without supervision, you’ll be a strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to adopt an approachable manner when dealing with customers.
The ability to design and create good quality online content, including text, images and video, is desirable, as is experience of supporting users with technical support.
