We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to support Research & Development to support our post-award R&D Finance Team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven clinical research nurse has arisen to work within the adult cardiovascular surgery & perioperative medicine research group and the Barts BioResource based at the St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

Our group offers a unique variety of research experiences and is a fantastic place to learn the
speciality. As part our routine day, we work in the Pre-Operative Assessment Units, Theatres, Recovery, Critical Care Units and Surgical wards. You will be closely involved with the staff and patients in all of these departments and more widely across the Hospital, supporting the Barts BioResource programme.

Your primary base will be at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital.

The successful applicant will be committed to evidence-based practice and will be involved in the day to day management of research studies and the Barts BioResource. This includes: patient recruitment, data collection, research protocol development, data quality assurance and liaison with the clinicians responsible for patient care. You will be expected to show initiative and autonomy in the running of the clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity for 4 Trainees to join the MHST.

We are seeking to recruit four graduate level practitioners to provide guided self-help therapy and parenting interventions. Further intensive supervision and on the job training will be provided by an experienced supervisor within each team. There will be a strong expectation for trainees to continue in post on successful completion of the one year training, with a salary increase to NHS Band 5 scale for the second year onwards.

Successful candidates will be employed on a full-time basis within a Mental Health Support Team delivering individual, group and workshop-based mental health interventions within a borough-based cluster of schools.

We currently have a vacancy for a dynamic, motivated administrator to work in the busy Cardiology Research Department within the newBarts Heart Centre.We are the biggest cardiovascular centre in Europe and have a growing portfolio of interventional research for cardiac patients. The primary responsibility for this post holder is support the delivery of our research portfolio as well as to assist with the every day tasks of the department. We are seeking to recruit trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) for Wave 12 Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST).The post is permanent conditional on successful completion of training ina range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self- management interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties.As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work) and must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.

This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for Hounslow MJST. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2025 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.

Schools-based Work Be supervised, supported and assessed as a trainee then qualified EMHP to assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Develop skills in supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, and their parents/carers, families and educators in the self-management of presenting difficulties. Developing and practicing evidence-based skills under supervisory support of working in partnership with children, young people, their families and educators in the development of plans for the specific intervention and agreeing outcomes. Developing and learning the skills required in order to enable children and young people in education, and where appropriate parents/carers, to collaborate and coproduce their own agreed plan of care. Show evidence in a variety of forms that at all times assessment and intervention is provided from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity. Discuss with supervisors and agree to accept appropriate referrals for children and young people in educational settings, according to agreed local and national and local referral routes, processes and procedures. Under supervision, undertake accurate assessments of risk to self and others. Learn, understand, rationalise and adhere to the protocols within the educational service to which the postholder is attached. Engage along with more senior staff in the signposting of referrals for children and young people with more complex needs to the relevant service. Engage in robust managerial and clinical supervision, identifying the scope of practice of the individual postholder within the role, and working safely within that scope. The aim of this post is to support ongoing research in the interventional cardiology department focusing on regenerative medicine and interventional research, with a view to submitting an MD (Res)/PhD.



Barts Heart Centre is home to the merged cardiac units which were previously based at The London Chest Hospital, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Heart Hospital. It is the heart attack centre for the region and also provides invasive and interventional cardiology services, structural cardiology, specialist cardiac imaging, electrophysiology services including device implants and ablation therapy for arrhythmia, grown up congenital heart disease, heart muscle disease and heart failure services. These posts therefore provide exposure to a wide variety of cardiology and medical conditions.

This role would suit a well organised person who has a desire to undertake a period of research training as part of their clinical training, ideally in the fields of cardiology or cardiac critical care. Some prior experience in research through an intercalated BSc or similar would be beneficial, as would experience / expertise in data management. Crucially the role requires an applicant who can communicate with a wide range of people and who can work independently.

The main responsibilities in addition to the MD (Res)/PhD is to support the cardiac intervention research activities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Learning Disabilities –Health Facilitation Nurse Lead,to join the Newham Health Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities (NTPLD).



This post is suitable for someone who is passionate about primary health care, specifically; promoting annual health checks, cancer screening, raising the profile of adult vaccination programmes and improving access to mainstream health services for patients with learning disabilities.
