About the role:

As a subject teacher you will be required to complete the professional duties that are expected of a UK qualified Teacher in accordance with academy policies and procedures and your subject specialism.

You should promote the achievement of high standards through effective teaching and learning within your subject area, including the preparation, application and development of lesson resources in alignment with the curriculum, as directed by your department head and senior leaders within the academy.

You will be responsible for effective classroom management and the coordinator of class work with any classroom support staff that are present. You must evaluate lessons and incorporate student views and responses to reflect and identify areas of development.

Applicants must hold UK QTS, if trained overseas, have the relevant evidence that your qualification equates to UK QTS.

• As a Director of Religious Education at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
• Ensure that soldiers, reservists, authorized civilians, and family members are afforded religious education programs, which allow them to exercise their religious beliefs regardless of faith groups.
• Develop specific guidelines and directives for installation-wide implementation of faith groups and religious education programs/services.
• Exercise substantial initiative and judgement in establishing and implementing the religious education goals, objectives, and programs.
• Advise Chaplain on single to large multiple faith group installation matters of religious education and youth ministry.
• Assess resource needs and deficits in order to meet the needs of religious education programming across the installation.
• Develop program marketing and advertising for the installation with emphasis on religious education and youth ministry.
• Evaluate the installation training plan for religious education and youth ministry personnel to develop a training plan for chaplains, chaplain assistant and civilian personnel.

Starting at $73,572 Per Year (GS 11)

• Perform duties as Flight Simulator Instructor/Operator UH-60M Blackhawk Air Crew Trainer.
• Evaluate comprehension, retention, and application of procedures related to visual and instrument flight, tactical flight, helicopter gunnery, aircraft/weapons system operations, and limitations.
• Review aviator training records.
• Train and evaluate rated pilots and/or instructors/examiners in advanced techniques and procedures for rotary wing aircraft.
• Conduct crew briefings on mission, weather, flight route, performance data, flight control transfer, crew duties and emergency duties.
• Conduct Flight Simulator Training and instruction.

In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT - Appendix 2.19), Teachers who commence employment with East Lothian Council after the first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of the school salary year (which runs from 1 August to 31 July each year), recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue leave and pay.
