Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Job Responsibilities: Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments. Check telephone numbers, addresses, email addresses with patients Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner. Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery. Enter requests for home visits and telephone consultations onto the telephone consultation screen, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor. Action repeats prescription requests following the practice guidelines and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours. Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same. Patient notes and correspondence: o Ensure that scanning and read-coding is up to date on a daily basis. Scanning must be double checked before being read-coded. Once letters are summarised on patients computerised medical records, they must be cross shredded. o Ensure that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen. o Enter patient information onto their electronic records as required. Update telephone numbers and email addresses; liaise with secretaries for update of addresses. Update medical records as required. Premises: o Open up premises at the start of the day. De-activate alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive patients. o When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured, radiators, fans and internal lights are turned off and the alarm activated. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager. Main Responsibilities

Line manage a multi disciplinary team

Oversee the management of the day to day workloads to ensure that work orders, PPM’s and range documentation are completed to the necessary standard and on time.

Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance tasks and ensure training areas are fit for purpose

Oversee the use of resources and equipment (plant, vehicles etc.)

Manage the production of risk assessments and method statements for various tasks as required.

Oversee the management of usage and bids, as well as carry out routine inspections to identify any maintenance tasks.

Support with the management of any bought in services or contractors.

Identify best practice and promote continuous improvement in line with legislation, industry standards, contract requirements, environmental best practice and compliance

Handover/ take back of facilities with service users including providing information on ‘maximising’ the use of the facility and camp.

The Ideal Candidate

What you know

Knowledge of management theories and techniques and proven people management experience.

Knowledge of Health & Safety, Training Area and Facilities Management systems, such as CoSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work to IOSH Managing Safely level.

Knowledge of military stores accounting and waste management, range assignment instructions, range standing orders and JSPs.

Knowledge of Environmental legislation and compliance gained through IEMA, other National General Certificates, or relevant experience.

Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contractual requirements.

Experience of communicating with customers.

Knowledge of workload scheduling and work order processes, preferably in a multi- tasking environment.

Your new role

Southend City Council's Fostering Recruitment Team are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time, Social Worker to recruit, train, assess, supervise and support Foster Carers in their role of looking after children and young people.

Cases are capped at 6 Form F.

Ensuing the highest professional standards and a good overall knowledge of relevant children's and fostering legislation, regulations and practice methods. Providing a supportive and efficient service to children, young people, their families and fostering families, ensuring that the needs of children and their parents and carers are professionally assessed.

You will be investigating, evaluating and analysing information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence in conclusions and realistic action plans. As well as this, you will be required to develop practice which takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in their immediate and extended social circles and having full regard to their overall development needs.

The position is hybrid working, and you will be expected to be on site a minimum of 2 days a week. There will be a face-to-face team meeting every other week on a Tuesday.
