The Role
The salary is up to £16,248 plus 7% enhancement and Essential Car User Allowance up to £963 per annum

The BRIDGES Family Support Team supports disabled children and their families. We have two permanent positions available for 20 hours per week.

As a Family Support Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team providing practical and personal support to disabled children. The support you will offer may be in their own homes or to enable them to get out and about.

You will be committed to helping families meet the needs of the young people in their care and, you must be willing to undertake training.

Bridges Family Support Team is unique! It’s a fabulous team with outstanding outcomes for disabled children, young people, and their families.

You will be operating within the wider Short Break Care team meeting the assessed need of disabled children and their families across Bolton. This is a team with a strong ethos of person-centred planning responding to individual needs of each child. An opportunity has arisen to become part of a dynamic trustwide specialist team. This will involve the care of Skin patients on the cancer pathway, in addition to supporting them living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis. The post holder will be an integral part of the nurse specialist team and compliance team, aiming to enhance patient experience through service delivery and development.





Under the guidance and supervision of a registered practitioner, the post holder will support the care of Skin patients and their family, during their cancer journey through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, into living with and beyond cancer.

This role involves provision of emotional and informational support, demonstrating respect of patients’ diverse cultural backgrounds, whilst ensuring their privacy and dignity is maintained. This will involve telephone support of patients and their relatives/carers.

The role will involve supporting the Skin clinical nurse specialist team and the cancer compliance team.

The postholder will be required to provide administrative support and record-keeping, navigating and coordinating pathways, clinic maintenance and audit of nurse-led clinics, and ensuring clinic letters, prescriptions and appointments are relayed to patients in a timely and efficient manner.

The role will require liaison and effective communication with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers to provide co-ordinated high-quality patient-centred care.

The post holder will play a key role in supporting the specialist nursing team to include providing evidence-based information and sign-posting to appropriate resources and completing of Holistic Needs Assessments.

About the Role

The role is for a supervising social worker - support and supervising foster carers. It involves the assessment of potential carers and support after approval. You will be joining an experienced and stable team.

• You will need to be a qualified Social Worker and hold a current HCPC registration, recent experience in services for children You will possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures in relation to fostering and safeguarding.
• Support foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people in foster care.
• Support and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
• Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in policies/procedures and regulation
• Provide and record regular supervision to allocated foster cares in line with NCC policies.
• Ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant in respect of all key documentation.
• Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basis.
• Undertake occasional Form F Assessments.
• Attend panel when required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Support and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
• Social work qualification
• Experience in working with children and families

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

- The role requires you to participate in the on call rota.

To be responsible for supporting all aspects of commercial, procurement and contract management activity within the Commercial Systems and Strategy Team.

To provide support to the C,P&CM team to deliver effective procurement, with a focus on improving quality, maximising savings, increasing spend with local suppliers and increasing targeted employment and training opportunities.

To support in the assessment of current spend, procurement activity, opportunity identification and realisation of benefits.​

To support the delivery of the strategic contract management functions, covering the review and risk management of key strategic/critical contracts, suppliers and markets, and advising the Council on main risks and how to mitigate these.​

To promote the Council’s vision, values, aims, objectives, and priorities actively and effectively, putting our citizens first through the delivery of best value services.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• IT skills with an ability to use Microsoft Access and Excel to produce reports and evaluate data
• Ability to use service specific software (eg: eTendering portal, Oracle financial software) to input data and follow workflows, ensuring accurate recording of information
• Good analytical and problem solving skills to be able to make suggestions to improve processes and help service areas with their work requests
• Be adaptable to change whilst working in a busy challenging environment, managing a high workload at times
• Have a working knowledge of procurement processes and the Council's role in procuring goods, services and works
• Ability to use your own initiative to make decisions relating to procurement issues
