We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide support for students across Key Stage 3 to 5. Great Meadows is our new service for 6 people requiring a wide range of support from emotional support, learning new coping mechanisms, and being able to express their true selves.

You will need to be adaptable, flexible, mature and be able to support our people to gain back their independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. It's important to note that some people being supported may self-harm, have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern.

At present all the people we support have several hours of 1:1 support during the day as well as some shared support day and night. The ideal people will have a passion for working with people with enduring mental health, a keen interest in the psychology behind complex behaviours that challenge and the willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support

We are looking for a Support Worker to support a 28-year-old man who loves walking, swimming, playing in his garden, stopping at a café for a spot of people watching and lots of other fun activities. He has a great sense of humour, an infectious laugh and an independent spirit. We are looking for an active, good humoured and calm support worker who can encourage him to achieve his full potential, keep up with him on his long walks and have some fun along the way!

The young gentleman has autism, epilepsy and a severe learning disability and needs an experienced, assertive, individual who is able to provide the consistent support outlined in his support plan and who is confident lone working. You will need to be adaptable, flexible, mature and be able to support him to further develop his independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. It's important to note that, when distressed, he may have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern so PBS or ABA experience would be highly desirable.

His home is close to public transport, within a short walk from the bus stop and train station. There is also free onsite parking available. He has his own car for support workers to use to take him out and about (clean driving licence required).

General description of role

Works under the direction of the Principal Estates Manager to:


a) Manage all aspects of the Post Room services and processes that support the core business of Reigate & Banstead’s operations.

b) Supervising and making efficient use of resources available to meet the day-to-day Post Room demands from both external and all Council Departments, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:

o Sorting and distribution of the post across the Authority.

o Scanning incoming post and related documents for departments within the council.

o Sorting of overnight printing and undertaking any printing as and when required.

o Managing stationary stock levels, along with processing and distributing incoming stationary requests.

o Operation of various pieces of equipment including large format scanners, folding machine, photocopiers and general office equipment and be willing to continue training in new technology and be prepared to instruct others as required.
Qualifications
SVQ Level 2 Clerical or equivalent or above or similar / or able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role.

2 years pre-qualification experience of Post Room administration.
