Please refer to detailed job description. The post holder is required to support the Medical Secretary Team Leader in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team. This will involve inpatient waiting list management for a specialty, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and typing correspondence and/or transcribing and typing up of minutes as appropriate. Working at County Hospital site may also be required at times.

Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly. To deliver a high standard of communication to build and maintain good working relationships. The post holder will be required to locate and track case notes if required. To support the Medical Secretary and specialty team in the delivery of waiting list management. Liaise with medical team and appointments department to arrange, cancel or alter clinical commitments to contribute to the smooth running of the department.
