Job Summary
Located in Chicago, IL, this position is responsible for managing a team and working enterprise wide to strategically establish and direct a best-in-class internal and external communications program for HCSC senior executives (SLT), as well as to work with HCSC Media/Public Relations to help ensure a best-in-class media/public relations program.
Accountabilities include providing strategic communications counsel and support to senior executives and HCSC Media/PR that effectively meet corporate objectives by:
* Interfacing with senior executives and others to develop effective communications plans, strong consistent messaging, and comprehensive integrated communications that address multiple internal and external audiences through a variety of communications channels.
* Assisting with highly confidential creation of regular Board Report and directing the creation of other Board materials for HCSC Board and affiliate boards.
* Helping build the corporate internal communications program, using the right mix of content, tactics and frequency to align and fully engage HCSC employees with timely, accurate and relevant communications.
* Working with HCSC Media/PR to help ensure strong, consistent messaging with key internal/external HCSC executive communications.
With responsibility for SLT communications initiatives, this position helps to set the direction of strategic communications across the enterprise by providing a blueprint for other areas of the company to follow for subsequent-related messages so that the organization speaks clearly, effectively and with one voice.
Job Requirements:
*Bachelor Degree in Communications with 10 years of diverse Corporate Communications experience OR 15 years of diverse management experience, including 5 years of executive communications experience and project consulting experience for audience-targeted executive or media/PR communications.
*5 years operational management dealing with diplomacy, confidentiality and negotiating skills.
*Experience in working with senior executives in developing key messages and communications plans.
*PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office and Microsoft PowerPoint.
*Experience in managing and facilitating meetings and activities to positively influence outcomes, staff, teams and senior leadership.
*Experience in retaining highly sensitive, confidential information. Adept at handling situations with political appropriateness and sensitivity.
*Ability to quickly develop high-quality, effective communication and/or project plans and products.
*Clear and concise verbal and written communications.
*Ability to write and edit an array of informative and engaging communications materials, including executive speeches and video/audio scripts, articles, memos, editorials, commentaries, talking points, Q&As, statements, etc.
*Proven results-oriented track record in an environment of multiple projects, disruptive urgencies and rapidly shifting deadlines.
*Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays, and work on weekends as needed.
*Proven track record to comprehend complex projects and be able to translate them into clear, concise communications messages.

We offer a flexible work arrangement which includes 3 days in the office, allows up to 2 days work from home weekly.
