Preston East Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) are looking to recruit a Band 6 Deputy Team Leader to our busy and friendly team. The applicant must to be registered with a relevant professional body. This is a permanent 37.5 hour contract. This post is suitable for registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists

The team are based at West Strand House in the centre of Preston, and serves a vibrant and diverse population. This is an interesting and rewarding role in a busy service. Ideally, you will have current or previous experience in a community setting and be able to work effectively in a multi professional context. The main job role is to perform duties as a keyworker. As a keyworker you will manage a caseload of service users with a range of complex mental health needs. You will develop Dialog+ care plans and deliver evidence based interventions and treatments to patients alongside managing risks in the community. The post requires that you are a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.

Part of your role will require you to undertake the role of team duty worker. This role involves managing unplanned patient work within the team, responding to escalation of risk/crisis situations and may also include assessing of new referrals.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will take on some leadership activities such as contributing to the learning and development of junior team members taking a lead on/or contributing to projects identified by the leadership team.

We have an award winning Tertiary Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre, led by Professor J.K. Limdi, recognised nationally & internationally for clinical services and research. This state of the art modular build has PET-CT (to be upgraded to one of the first digital PET CT scanners in the country), MR, CT, Ultrasound and physiological testing. Main Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the branch to ensure that it is efficient, profitable and provides the highest standard of care to all customers.
• Holding the CQC/CIW registration for the branch and ensure that it operates within CQC/CIW guidelines.
• Maintain and grow carer numbers by actively recruiting new team members and guiding them through the recruitment process.
• Actively seek new business opportunities and support the commercial growth of the branch.
• Regularly review the operation of the branch to ensure that all customer needs are met.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures are communicated and implemented effectively within the branch.
• Support branch staff and carers with their training and development.

About You

To be successful in this role you'll need to have a level 5 NVQ in Management in care or be willing to work towards achieving this. Additionally, you'll need to have knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practice in line with CQC/CIW guidance and experience of working within the care sector at management level. You'll also need to have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
