An opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to join the University of Central Lancashire, who will act as the first point of contact to all visitors to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
You will provide a professional and responsive reception service, welcoming and directing visitors, dealing with telephone and email enquiries, and be an essential member of the team that supports the Vice-Chancellor. You will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor and will provide a range of confidential administrative support within office. This could include typing letters and reports, filing and distributing papers, diary management, organising travel and monitoring emails
The Vice-Chancellor is responsible for the leadership and management of the University and is supported by the Vice-Chancellor's Group, which includes the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), Chief Officers and Pro Vice-Chancellors. The Vice-Chancellor's Group lead the University and are responsible for ensuring we fulfil our mission and values. As a leadership team they have clear responsibilities to drive improvement and growth around our key objectives of student recruitment and experience, financial stability and a continued focus on our people. The Vice-Chancellor’s Office is managed by the Executive Officer and the Vice-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor’s Group are supported by Executive Assistants.
The successful candidate would benefit from having prior administrative/clerical experience, in a busy office environment and experience of providing and maintaining high quality customer service. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy. You will have a range of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, good typing ability and will be computer literate across a range of Microsoft packages. You will have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines, be confident in dealing with people at all levels both internally and externally and be highly motivated with the capability of taking on a pro-active approach
