Service Care Solutions have a vacancy for a Voids Operative Driver for a client they are working with based out of Devon on a temporary ongoing contract.

In this position, the Voids Operative Driver will cover parts of Devon as part of a team carrying out Voids and Repairs work.

You will be responsible for assisting other staff in carrying out both void and responsive repairs works by undertaking duties for which no formal trade qualification is required.

The post holder must have a valid licence and experience of driving vehicles up to and exceeding 7.5 tonnes, towing trailers and have experience driving plant machinery, including mini diggers and dumpers.

Core duties will include property clearances, garden clearance and transporting debris arising to landfill sites, general labouring, driving plant and excavations, and semi skilled repairs.

Other duties will comprise of:

1. To carry out clearances of tenants' furniture and belongings, either to the Local Authority transfer station, landfill site, or to a designated store, as instructed by the Voids Supervisor.
2. To demolish and clear away garden sheds and other small external structures.
3. To carry out basic gardening, such as 'strimming' and cutting back shrubs and tree branches.
4. To carry out ground works such as excavating fence post holes and trenches, terracing land, and clearing away excess soil with a mini digger.
5. To undertake general labouring duties such as lifting and mixing of plaster, mortar and concrete and hacking off of defective plaster walls and ceilings.
6. To terminate the water supply and strip out old kitchens ready for the tradesman to replace with new.

This position will involve driving vehicles upto 7.5 ton therefore it is a requirement for you to hold a Class 2/Category C Driving License.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work with young people in our Barnstaple youth centre and local communities. This post requires either an experienced youth worker or someone looking to change careers and work with young people as part of the youth work team. Transferable skills will be considered. Our Youth Centres are busy and vibrant spaces. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenge of leading sessions alongside providing young people with individual packages of support.

What is the role?
● Leading youth work in a variety of settings

Provide support to customer and visitor reception areas, acting as the first point of enquiry and sign posting individual to relevant information / service. Promote the image of the department, checking that notices and leaflets are up to date & well presented. Ensure that all complaints, compliments, concerns, comments and suggestions are appropriately recorded, and where possible resolved within level of role or escalated appropriately. Process online referrals and manage referrals made over the telephone. Respond to telephone, email and written queries on behalf of the service area including call handling where appropriate as agreed with line manager. Arrange appointments, meetings and events on behalf of the service, making bookings where necessary and ensuring all equipment and documentation is available, in conjunction with line manager where required. To produce minutes as an accurate record of meetings, transcribing and distributing as directed, with supervision as appropriate. To maintain accurate and timely electronic and hard copy information using organisational systems as directed and in line with policies. Supporting operational staff to access management information; electronic and hard copy. Collect data to enable managers to monitor budgets and performance in relation to business support function with support of line manager. Collect and prepare information for service area users with support of line manager. Maximise the use of electronic systems to enable effective management of the service area such as Microsoft Office and patient record systems. Be compliant with the Data Protection and record management policies and procedures with particular reference to confidentiality and safeguarding issues. Be proactive and contribute ideas for improvement in the way the service is delivered. Able to work on own initiative, prioritising work within defined policies and procedures to set timescales. Ensure that all office support services e.g. post, fax, filing, photo copying, are delivered in a timely manner. Demonstrate own activities to new or less experienced employees. To process and pass for payment all relevant invoices in a timely manner in accordance with business process, with support of line manager. Monitor stock e.g. stationery and order supplies and equipment as required within the business area. Undertake research and development as directed. Key holder to open and close the building securely as necessary.
