We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individuals to join our team, as part of The Open Door Project, Newport.
What is the Open Door Project?
The Open Door Project delivers outreach support to rough sleepers and vulnerably housed people across Newport. We aim to improve to support the wellbeing of individuals and develop the skills and confidence needed for future independent living

We reach out to support homeless people sleeping rough.
We reach out to support homeless people in temporary accommodation.
We host a drop-in 7 days a week and we ensure our support is available across multi-agency locations.

Key Responsibilities:
To work as part of an outreach team taking shared responsibility for delivering our programme of support, working on outreach, operating our drop in provision and visiting individuals in temporary accommodation sites across Newport.
Taking a collaborative approach, working with a wide variety of statutory and voluntary partners, supporting homeless people.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

Demonstrate knowledge around homelessness and the key needs experienced by vulnerable homeless people.
Demonstrate great communication and IT skills.
Enjoy working as part of a team and also have the confidence to be self-directed and work alone when needed.
Hold the ability to work in sympathy with the spiritual principles of The Salvation Army.

We are recruiting for a motivated and well-organised individual who would relish the challenge of working in a busy Learner Support Team. Harper Adams University supports one of the highest proportions of disabled students in UK higher education. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team comprising of the Head of Disability and Learner Support, Disability Advisers, Learner Support Tutors, Academic Guidance Tutors and a Maths Support Tutor.
The post-holder will be the main point of contact for all disability related enquiries and provide first line support to students including guidance on the Disabled Students Allowance, organising assessments for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and booking one to one study skills sessions.
As a key member of the Learner Support Team, this role requires exceptional communication and customer service skills, and the ability to act sensitively and in a confidential manner, displaying warmth and composure under pressure. Experience of working in a customer focused environment, excellent administrative and IT skills, alongside the capacity to prioritise and multitask in this varied role is essential. As a Care Assistant at MHA you will provide the highest quality of care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. Duties will be varied and include supporting our residents with personal care needs and helping them to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. About you

The right values, attitude and behaviours are more important than your previous career background. Therefore whilst previous care experience is desirable it is not essential and we'll provide all the training and support you need to thrive. You don't need any qualifications to get started as a Care Assistant.
