Major duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Researches complaint, communicates with congressional office staff, Veteran Service Officers, patients, and elements within the hospital.
• Receives, schedules, refers and contacts members of the staff, agency and persons outside the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public.
• Provides general clerical public contact support services such as answering the telephone, referring visitors or providing information about the office, its functions and standard operating procedures as well as similar information.
• Supplies the requested information when a question concerns information the employee is familiar with or can easily obtained (e.g., status of reports, suspense dates, procedural requirements).
• Provides customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
• Scheduling conference rooms, preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
• Monitor, certify, and submit contractor timesheets.
• Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
• Performs the following types of duties: edits letters, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, prepares public presentation outlines, and develops standard or form letters and replies to inquiries.
• Provides general clerical mail and correspondence services such as preparing a variety of recurring reports, reviewing outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, or consolidating/coordinating submittals of information.
• Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences.
• Provides general calendar maintenance clerical services such as maintaining calendars and recording appointments or arranging for meetings and small conferences.
• Maintains appointment calendar, schedules appointments, reminds supervisor/staff members of the subject matter prior to the meeting and makes administrative arrangements as required.
• Obtains and monitors the use of services, supplies or equipment for the office. Justifies and requests replacements for outdated equipment by identifying the outdated equipment, gathering relevant information on office equipment or requesting office equipment for own work area.

• Participate in the overall implementation of program plans developed by Recreational Specialist or higher-level specialist.
• Instruct, plan, manage, coordinate and schedule specific portions of the Centers recreational and physical fitness activities.
• Instruct and counsel students in positive social and employability skills for workplace success.
• Conduct, organize and plan a variety of conventional basic recreational and physical fitness training activities for students.
• Participate in the day-to-day administration and operations of a recreation or sporting facilities.
• Operate government vehicles to transport students to and from off-site activities. This may include operating buses with air brakes.

• Establishes and evaluates performance plans for subordinates; plans and assigns work to subordinates; establishes priorities, milestones, and schedules completion of work
• Utilizes human resources in planning, developing, implementing and modifying VETS' State programs and activities to meet requirements and objectives of the VETS Agency Management Plan (AMP), Performance Budget and the National and Regional Offices. Provides advice and guidance on problem, program responsibilities, projects or studies.
• Represents the Department and provides outreach, briefings, and presentations on VETS and VETS' programs at veterans' service organizations, military installations, and state or local organizations interested in Veterans' employment programs.
• Promotes VETS' programs and cooperative relationships with Veterans, key stakeholders, and community-based organizations, and, as appropriate, with employers and high-level executives and government officials.
• Provides written communication directly to State Workforce Agencies, Organizational Decision-makers, Stakeholders, and VETS' grantees regarding program and regulatory guidance and/or policy related to grants and training.
• Regularly provides written updates to regional, agency and departmental leadership related to program activities and outreach initiatives. May serve as a member of workgroups designed to develop policy recommendations to National Office leadership; routinely reviews and provides input to draft guidance and policy development.
• Serves in an advisory capacity and provides technical assistance to State Workforce Agencies, Organizational Decision-makers, Stakeholders, and other grantees to enhance the Veterans' employment services and resolve related employment and training issues.
• Serves as the Grant Officer Technical Representative (GOTR) for all VETS' grants in the state by a review of summary reports, the review of cost accounting reports and processing of grant modifications.
• Analyzes, interprets, and applies short- and long-range strategic plans to establish policies and procedures related to impacting rights and careers of service members and their families. Manages multiple tasks and effectively prioritizes them.
• Effectively leverages all available resources in planning efforts.

Provides technical planning assistance, coordination, and support on cooperative Tribal conservation and recreation planning projects. Works with Tribal Nations and Indigenous Communities, Federal, State, and local governments to plan trails and conservation projects.
Supports multi-disciplinary teams in the development of these recreation projects.
Supports local organizations, such as Tribes, to develop park planning alternatives, and to assist in engaging the community in the process.

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

• The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
• The duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Assists cooperators in understanding of and compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), Endangered Species Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and other wildlife-related laws.
• May be required to take extensive training and recurrent training on wildlife damage or disease recognition, control methods, and techniques
• Communicates safe and effective damage management techniques through outreach and other channels to the general public.
• Assists other WS employees as requested and may assist in training new WS personnel.
• Modifies or adapts established damage or disease control techniques as necessary to meet local conditions and address specific environmental, economic, or political considerations.
• Recommends, to supervisor, areas for potential research or developmental study, to reduce the risks of damage to resources or disease transmission to domestic animals and humans.
• May develop and deliver training for cooperators, stakeholders, partner agencies and organizations, or other entities.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other Federal, State, county and city government agencies, Tribes, corporations, educational or research institutions.
• Gathers, compiles, evaluates, and presents data on damage or hazards caused by various wildlife species to cooperators, stakeholders, and colleagues through project or program reports.

• Uses system to: diagnose and correct HVAC problems and failures, command set points and valve actuators, and to acknowledge, clear and reset alarms.
• Checks for the probability of leaks by visual and audible examination of equipment components; by applying prescribed test procedures and equipment; and by exploration of probable reasons for equipment failure.
• To perform other trades crafts, work as secondary skills and qualifications.

• Uses system to: diagnose and correct HVAC problems and failures, command set points and valve actuators, and to acknowledge, clear and reset alarms.

Salary: Unqualified: Base salary of £24,194.04 with the potential to earn up to a total of £29,594.04 with sleep in shifts.

Qualified (full diploma Level 3 qualified or equivalent): Base salary of £24,741.60 with the potential to earn up to a total of £30,141.60 with sleep in shifts.
