The Role

Brook Street Social Care presents this exciting career opportunity to work with one of our clients in Aycliffe Centre in Durham.

This role is working within a secure children`s home, providing high-quality, specialist accommodation for young people between the ages of 10 and 18. The centre houses vulnerable young people, many of whom have complex problems and need intensive support to help them turn their lives around.


Please Note: During your working schedule, you must be available to work across the following shifts: Rotating Weekday shifts are Monday-Friday 7.30 am-2.45 pm Monday-Friday 2.15 pm-11 pm. Fortnightly weekend shifts will be: Saturdays 8am-1.15pm and Sundays 1.15pm-11pm, Saturdays 1.15pm-11pm and Sunday 8am-1.15pm.


What will be your primary responsibilities?

Our residential service, Bewick House in Darlington is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local restaurants and attending appointments, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach and preferably have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice, as well as preferably having experience working with individuals with autism, complex individuals with mental health needs and challenging behaviours.

Welcome to our new supported accommodation, located in Bishop Auckland, this is a new service; a five bedded supported accommodation for women. Teasdale House will provide accommodation for five individuals with a range of complex needs, providing intensive support to woman experiencing multiple exclusion, As well as providing specialist support to those most in need. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to join our passionate team of 6 members, which includes a dedicated group of support workers.
The primary ambition of our services is to support people into their own homes, equipping them with the skillset and resilience to sustain their tenancies and work towards their aspirations. Our risk management expertise and person-centred support planning allows us to support people into the right accommodation at the right time, maintaining long-term engagement, and accelerating their pathway to independence.
We are committed to delivering high-quality support, and we welcome your expertise and dedication to help us continue making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. You will be given training on all aspects of the role as well as taking part in regular reflective practice and case management reviews with the whole team.
Our project operates on a 24-hour shift schedule; therefore, your commitment and flexibility are essential as shift times may vary to ensure uninterrupted support.

A client within the Public Sector based in the Northeast is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join their repairs team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for the effective procurement, implementation, management, and contractual

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• involve the identification of future contract requirements and resolution of any contractual performance or compliance issues with those delivering services to this area of the business.
• act as lead within the Property Repairs service in respect of all contracts to facilitate delivery of the overall Property Repairs service.
• identify and facilitate contracts being put into operation for all aspects of service delivery support required within the Property Repairs service, including negotiations on awards, renewals and extensions.
• ensure the appropriate contract documentation and KPI's are in place to support contract delivery including insurances and risk assessments as necessary.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a business-related qualification and have at least two years' experience of working in a contract environment.

It will be essential to have an extensive level of knowledge of the below:

• Experience in monitoring, analysis, and reporting on all aspects of financial and performance data and to maintain accurate auditable records.
• Ability to negotiate and build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
• Understands the importance of developing and coaching staff to unlock potential and harness talent management.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £25.55 per hour Umbrella Ltd.
