About the service user


Support for a 93 year old gentleman with declining Dementia.


Family is very important to him, he has a large supportive family who he enjoys seeing regularly.


D enjoys being outside sitting in his garden, feeding the birds, going for walks, trips to the garden centre, days at the seaside & going to the pub for ½ a shandy! He is a real animal lover he also likes watching nature programmes and Only Fools and Horses to lift his spirit.


Hours and rate of Pay


45 hours per week Monday Friday working pattern to be provided.


Maternity Cover to start beginning of September 24.


Food & drinks are provided/available while you are on shift.


£13 per hour


Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.


What you would be doing


Supporting D with all his daily living tasks including personal care, preparing food & maintaining hydration, household chores.


D has a stoma and a long term catheter in situ, training on management of these will be provided.


Keeping D company & safe.


Going out and about together visiting places of interest with D, mileage money will be paid or taxi fares as needed.

If you have some knowledge/experience of Dementia that would be great but is not essential but, it is essential that you have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and the ability to build close working relationships with both D and his family.

The Public Health Commissioning Team is part of the Public Health Directorate.

The principal role of the post holder will be to provide a skilled and full range of administrative duties in support of the Public Health Commissioning Teams workstreams and functions.
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team, ensuring a thorough understanding of procedures, protocols, and functions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for a diverse range of stakeholders within the work area.
• Handle complex information, including contentious and sensitive data, with discretion.
• Communicate and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, utilising negotiation skills and understanding the needs and requirements of various organisations, senior professionals, and individuals.
• Update and maintain databases and spreadsheets relevant to the work area.
• Manage meeting arrangements, including taking and distributing minutes, which may involve off-site attendance.
• Manage shared mailboxes and diaries, and associated arrangements for senior managers and directors as required.
